| CVE-2025-71193 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: phy: qcom-qusb2: Fix NULL pointer dereference on early suspend Enabling runtime PM before attaching the QPHY instance as driver data can lead to a NULL pointer dereference in runtime PM callbacks that expect valid driver data. There is a small window where the suspend callback may run after PM runtime enabling and before runtime forbid. This causes a sporadic crash during boot: ``` Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000000000000a1 [...] CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 11 Comm: kworker/0:1 Not tainted 6.16.7+ #116 PREEMPT Workqueue: pm pm_runtime_work pstate: 20000005 (nzCv daif -PAN -UAO -TCO -DIT -SSBS BTYPE=--) pc : qusb2_phy_runtime_suspend+0x14/0x1e0 [phy_qcom_qusb2] lr : pm_generic_runtime_suspend+0x2c/0x44 [...] ``` Attach the QPHY instance as driver data before enabling runtime PM to prevent NULL pointer dereference in runtime PM callbacks. Reorder pm_runtime_enable() and pm_runtime_forbid() to prevent a short window where an unnecessary runtime suspend can occur. Use the devres-managed version to ensure PM runtime is symmetrically disabled during driver removal for proper cleanup. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: imu: st_lsm6dsx: fix iio_chan_spec for sensors without event detection The st_lsm6dsx_acc_channels array of struct iio_chan_spec has a non-NULL event_spec field, indicating support for IIO events. However, event detection is not supported for all sensors, and if userspace tries to configure accelerometer wakeup events on a sensor device that does not support them (e.g. LSM6DS0), st_lsm6dsx_write_event() dereferences a NULL pointer when trying to write to the wakeup register. Define an additional struct iio_chan_spec array whose members have a NULL event_spec field, and use this array instead of st_lsm6dsx_acc_channels for sensors without event detection capability. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: w1: therm: Fix off-by-one buffer overflow in alarms_store The sysfs buffer passed to alarms_store() is allocated with 'size + 1' bytes and a NUL terminator is appended. However, the 'size' argument does not account for this extra byte. The original code then allocated 'size' bytes and used strcpy() to copy 'buf', which always writes one byte past the allocated buffer since strcpy() copies until the NUL terminator at index 'size'. Fix this by parsing the 'buf' parameter directly using simple_strtoll() without allocating any intermediate memory or string copying. This removes the overflow while simplifying the code. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc/pseries: Rework lppaca_shared_proc() to avoid DEBUG_PREEMPT lppaca_shared_proc() takes a pointer to the lppaca which is typically accessed through get_lppaca(). With DEBUG_PREEMPT enabled, this leads to checking if preemption is enabled, for example: BUG: using smp_processor_id() in preemptible [00000000] code: grep/10693 caller is lparcfg_data+0x408/0x19a0 CPU: 4 PID: 10693 Comm: grep Not tainted 6.5.0-rc3 #2 Call Trace: dump_stack_lvl+0x154/0x200 (unreliable) check_preemption_disabled+0x214/0x220 lparcfg_data+0x408/0x19a0 ... This isn't actually a problem however, as it does not matter which lppaca is accessed, the shared proc state will be the same. vcpudispatch_stats_procfs_init() already works around this by disabling preemption, but the lparcfg code does not, erroring any time /proc/powerpc/lparcfg is accessed with DEBUG_PREEMPT enabled. Instead of disabling preemption on the caller side, rework lppaca_shared_proc() to not take a pointer and instead directly access the lppaca, bypassing any potential preemption checks. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: comedi: fix divide-by-zero in comedi_buf_munge() The comedi_buf_munge() function performs a modulo operation `async->munge_chan %= async->cmd.chanlist_len` without first checking if chanlist_len is zero. If a user program submits a command with chanlist_len set to zero, this causes a divide-by-zero error when the device processes data in the interrupt handler path. Add a check for zero chanlist_len at the beginning of the function, similar to the existing checks for !map and CMDF_RAWDATA flag. When chanlist_len is zero, update munge_count and return early, indicating the data was handled without munging. This prevents potential kernel panics from malformed user commands. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpufreq: intel_pstate: Fix object lifecycle issue in update_qos_request() The cpufreq_cpu_put() call in update_qos_request() takes place too early because the latter subsequently calls freq_qos_update_request() that indirectly accesses the policy object in question through the QoS request object passed to it. Fortunately, update_qos_request() is called under intel_pstate_driver_lock, so this issue does not matter for changing the intel_pstate operation mode, but it theoretically can cause a crash to occur on CPU device hot removal (which currently can only happen in virt, but it is formally supported nevertheless). Address this issue by modifying update_qos_request() to drop the reference to the policy later. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: exfat: fix improper check of dentry.stream.valid_size We found an infinite loop bug in the exFAT file system that can lead to a Denial-of-Service (DoS) condition. When a dentry in an exFAT filesystem is malformed, the following system calls — SYS_openat, SYS_ftruncate, and SYS_pwrite64 — can cause the kernel to hang. Root cause analysis shows that the size validation code in exfat_find() does not check whether dentry.stream.valid_size is negative. As a result, the system calls mentioned above can succeed and eventually trigger the DoS issue. This patch adds a check for negative dentry.stream.valid_size to prevent this vulnerability. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regulator: stm32-pwr: fix of_iomap leak Smatch reports: drivers/regulator/stm32-pwr.c:166 stm32_pwr_regulator_probe() warn: 'base' from of_iomap() not released on lines: 151,166. In stm32_pwr_regulator_probe(), base is not released when devm_kzalloc() fails to allocate memory or devm_regulator_register() fails to register a new regulator device, which may cause a leak. To fix this issue, replace of_iomap() with devm_platform_ioremap_resource(). devm_platform_ioremap_resource() is a specialized function for platform devices. It allows 'base' to be automatically released whether the probe function succeeds or fails. Besides, use IS_ERR(base) instead of !base as the return value of devm_platform_ioremap_resource() can either be a pointer to the remapped memory or an ERR_PTR() encoded error code if the operation fails. | ||||

| CVE-2023-54117 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/dcssblk: fix kernel crash with list_add corruption Commit fb08a1908cb1 ("dax: simplify the dax_device <-> gendisk association") introduced new logic for gendisk association, requiring drivers to explicitly call dax_add_host() and dax_remove_host(). For dcssblk driver, some dax_remove_host() calls were missing, e.g. in device remove path. The commit also broke error handling for out_dax case in device add path, resulting in an extra put_device() w/o the previous get_device() in that case. This lead to stale xarray entries after device add / remove cycles. In the case when a previously used struct gendisk pointer (xarray index) would be used again, because blk_alloc_disk() happened to return such a pointer, the xa_insert() in dax_add_host() would fail and go to out_dax, doing the extra put_device() in the error path. In combination with an already flawed error handling in dcssblk (device_register() cleanup), which needs to be addressed in a separate patch, this resulted in a missing device_del() / klist_del(), and eventually in the kernel crash with list_add corruption on a subsequent device_add() / klist_add(). Fix this by adding the missing dax_remove_host() calls, and also move the put_device() in the error path to restore the previous logic. | ||||

This is because the refcount is not correct in configfs_make_dirent(). For normal stage, the refcount is changing as: configfs_register_subsystem() configfs_create_dir() configfs_make_dirent() configfs_new_dirent() # set s_count = 1 dentry->d_fsdata = configfs_get(sd); # s_count = 2 ... configfs_unregister_subsystem() configfs_remove_dir() remove_dir() configfs_remove_dirent() # s_count = 1 dput() ... *dentry_unlink_inode()* configfs_d_iput() # s_count = 0, release However, if we failed in configfs_create(): configfs_register_subsystem() configfs_create_dir() configfs_make_dirent() # s_count = 2 ... configfs_create() # fail ->out_remove: configfs_remove_dirent(dentry) configfs_put(sd) # s_count = 1 return PTR_ERR(inode); There is no inode in the error path, so the configfs_d_iput() is lost and makes sd and fragment memory leaked. To fix this, when we failed in configfs_create(), manually call configfs_put(sd) to keep the refcount correct. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: uas: fix urb unmapping issue when the uas device is remove during ongoing data transfer When a UAS device is unplugged during data transfer, there is a probability of a system panic occurring. The root cause is an access to an invalid memory address during URB callback handling. Specifically, this happens when the dma_direct_unmap_sg() function is called within the usb_hcd_unmap_urb_for_dma() interface, but the sg->dma_address field is 0 and the sg data structure has already been freed. The SCSI driver sends transfer commands by invoking uas_queuecommand_lck() in uas.c, using the uas_submit_urbs() function to submit requests to USB. Within the uas_submit_urbs() implementation, three URBs (sense_urb, data_urb, and cmd_urb) are sequentially submitted. Device removal may occur at any point during uas_submit_urbs execution, which may result in URB submission failure. However, some URBs might have been successfully submitted before the failure, and uas_submit_urbs will return the -ENODEV error code in this case. The current error handling directly calls scsi_done(). In the SCSI driver, this eventually triggers scsi_complete() to invoke scsi_end_request() for releasing the sgtable. The successfully submitted URBs, when being unlinked to giveback, call usb_hcd_unmap_urb_for_dma() in hcd.c, leading to exceptions during sg unmapping operations since the sg data structure has already been freed. This patch modifies the error condition check in the uas_submit_urbs() function. When a UAS device is removed but one or more URBs have already been successfully submitted to USB, it avoids immediately invoking scsi_done() and save the cmnd to devinfo->cmnd array. If the successfully submitted URBs is completed before devinfo->resetting being set, then the scsi_done() function will be called within uas_try_complete() after all pending URB operations are finalized. Otherwise, the scsi_done() function will be called within uas_zap_pending(), which is executed after usb_kill_anchored_urbs(). The error handling only takes effect when uas_queuecommand_lck() calls uas_submit_urbs() and returns the error value -ENODEV . In this case, the device is disconnected, and the flow proceeds to uas_disconnect(), where uas_zap_pending() is invoked to call uas_try_complete(). | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: j1939: prevent deadlock by moving j1939_sk_errqueue() This commit addresses a deadlock situation that can occur in certain scenarios, such as when running data TP/ETP transfer and subscribing to the error queue while receiving a net down event. The deadlock involves locks in the following order: 3 j1939_session_list_lock -> active_session_list_lock j1939_session_activate ... j1939_sk_queue_activate_next -> sk_session_queue_lock ... j1939_xtp_rx_eoma_one 2 j1939_sk_queue_drop_all -> sk_session_queue_lock ... j1939_sk_netdev_event_netdown -> j1939_socks_lock j1939_netdev_notify 1 j1939_sk_errqueue -> j1939_socks_lock __j1939_session_cancel -> active_session_list_lock j1939_tp_rxtimer CPU0 CPU1 ---- ---- lock(&priv->active_session_list_lock); lock(&jsk->sk_session_queue_lock); lock(&priv->active_session_list_lock); lock(&priv->j1939_socks_lock); The solution implemented in this commit is to move the j1939_sk_errqueue() call out of the active_session_list_lock context, thus preventing the deadlock situation. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: comedi: pcl818: fix null-ptr-deref in pcl818_ai_cancel() Syzbot identified an issue [1] in pcl818_ai_cancel(), which stems from the fact that in case of early device detach via pcl818_detach(), subdevice dev->read_subdev may not have initialized its pointer to &struct comedi_async as intended. Thus, any such dereferencing of &s->async->cmd will lead to general protection fault and kernel crash. Mitigate this problem by removing a call to pcl818_ai_cancel() from pcl818_detach() altogether. This way, if the subdevice setups its support for async commands, everything async-related will be handled via subdevice's own ->cancel() function in comedi_device_detach_locked() even before pcl818_detach(). If no support for asynchronous commands is provided, there is no need to cancel anything either.
