The change happened in max9286_init() which calls v4l2_i2c_subdev_init() later on... Besides fixing the max9286_remove() function, remove the call to i2c_set_clientdata() in max9286_probe(), to avoid confusion, and make the necessary changes to max9286_init() so that it doesn't have to use i2c_get_clientdata() in order to fetch the pointer to priv.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: memory: of: Fix refcount leak bug in of_lpddr3_get_ddr_timings() We should add the of_node_put() when breaking out of for_each_child_of_node() as it will automatically increase and decrease the refcount.
CVE-2022-50436 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-01-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: don't set up encryption key during jbd2 transaction Commit a80f7fcf1867 ("ext4: fixup ext4_fc_track_* functions' signature") extended the scope of the transaction in ext4_unlink() too far, making it include the call to ext4_find_entry(). However, ext4_find_entry() can deadlock when called from within a transaction because it may need to set up the directory's encryption key. Fix this by restoring the transaction to its original scope.
CVE-2022-50435 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-01-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: avoid crash when inline data creation follows DIO write When inode is created and written to using direct IO, there is nothing to clear the EXT4_STATE_MAY_INLINE_DATA flag. Thus when inode gets truncated later to say 1 byte and written using normal write, we will try to store the data as inline data. This confuses the code later because the inode now has both normal block and inline data allocated and the confusion manifests for example as: kernel BUG at fs/ext4/inode.c:2721! invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN CPU: 0 PID: 359 Comm: repro Not tainted 5.19.0-rc8-00001-g31ba1e3b8305-dirty #15 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.16.0-1.fc36 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:ext4_writepages+0x363d/0x3660 RSP: 0018:ffffc90000ccf260 EFLAGS: 00010293 RAX: ffffffff81e1abcd RBX: 0000008000000000 RCX: ffff88810842a180 RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: 0000008000000000 RDI: 0000000000000000 RBP: ffffc90000ccf650 R08: ffffffff81e17d58 R09: ffffed10222c680b R10: dfffe910222c680c R11: 1ffff110222c680a R12: ffff888111634128 R13: ffffc90000ccf880 R14: 0000008410000000 R15: 0000000000000001 FS: 00007f72635d2640(0000) GS:ffff88811b000000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 0000565243379180 CR3: 000000010aa74000 CR4: 0000000000150eb0 Call Trace: <TASK> do_writepages+0x397/0x640 filemap_fdatawrite_wbc+0x151/0x1b0 file_write_and_wait_range+0x1c9/0x2b0 ext4_sync_file+0x19e/0xa00 vfs_fsync_range+0x17b/0x190 ext4_buffered_write_iter+0x488/0x530 ext4_file_write_iter+0x449/0x1b90 vfs_write+0xbcd/0xf40 ksys_write+0x198/0x2c0 __x64_sys_write+0x7b/0x90 do_syscall_64+0x3d/0x90 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x63/0xcd </TASK> Fix the problem by clearing EXT4_STATE_MAY_INLINE_DATA when we are doing direct IO write to a file.

CVE-2023-53489 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-01-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp/udp: Fix memleaks of sk and zerocopy skbs with TX timestamp. syzkaller reported [0] memory leaks of an UDP socket and ZEROCOPY skbs. We can reproduce the problem with these sequences: sk = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_DGRAM, 0) sk.setsockopt(SOL_SOCKET, SO_TIMESTAMPING, SOF_TIMESTAMPING_TX_SOFTWARE) sk.setsockopt(SOL_SOCKET, SO_ZEROCOPY, 1) sk.sendto(b'', MSG_ZEROCOPY, ('127.0.0.1', 53)) sk.close() sendmsg() calls msg_zerocopy_alloc(), which allocates a skb, sets skb->cb->ubuf.refcnt to 1, and calls sock_hold(). Here, struct ubuf_info_msgzc indirectly holds a refcnt of the socket. When the skb is sent, __skb_tstamp_tx() clones it and puts the clone into the socket's error queue with the TX timestamp. When the original skb is received locally, skb_copy_ubufs() calls skb_unclone(), and pskb_expand_head() increments skb->cb->ubuf.refcnt. This additional count is decremented while freeing the skb, but struct ubuf_info_msgzc still has a refcnt, so __msg_zerocopy_callback() is not called. The last refcnt is not released unless we retrieve the TX timestamped skb by recvmsg(). Since we clear the error queue in inet_sock_destruct() after the socket's refcnt reaches 0, there is a circular dependency. If we close() the socket holding such skbs, we never call sock_put() and leak the count, sk, and skb. TCP has the same problem, and commit e0c8bccd40fc ("net: stream: purge sk_error_queue in sk_stream_kill_queues()") tried to fix it by calling skb_queue_purge() during close(). However, there is a small chance that skb queued in a qdisc or device could be put into the error queue after the skb_queue_purge() call. In __skb_tstamp_tx(), the cloned skb should not have a reference to the ubuf to remove the circular dependency, but skb_clone() does not call skb_copy_ubufs() for zerocopy skb. So, we need to call skb_orphan_frags_rx() for the cloned skb to call skb_copy_ubufs(). CVE-2022-49711 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-01-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bus: fsl-mc-bus: fix KASAN use-after-free in fsl_mc_bus_remove() In fsl_mc_bus_remove(), mc->root_mc_bus_dev->mc_io is passed to fsl_destroy_mc_io(). However, mc->root_mc_bus_dev is already freed in fsl_mc_device_remove(). Then reference to mc->root_mc_bus_dev->mc_io triggers KASAN use-after-free. To avoid the use-after-free, keep the reference to mc->root_mc_bus_dev->mc_io in a local variable and pass to fsl_destroy_mc_io(). This patch needs rework to apply to kernels older than v5.15.

Instead just return BLK_STS_OK as the repair function has to continue to process the rest of the pages, and the endio for the repair bio will do the appropriate cleanup for the page that it was given.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: idxd: Fix double free in idxd_setup_wqs() The clean up in idxd_setup_wqs() has had a couple bugs because the error handling is a bit subtle. It's simpler to just re-write it in a cleaner way. The issues here are: 1) If "idxd->max_wqs" is <= 0 then we call put_device(conf_dev) when "conf_dev" hasn't been initialized. 2) If kzalloc_node() fails then again "conf_dev" is invalid. It's either uninitialized or it points to the "conf_dev" from the previous iteration so it leads to a double free. It's better to free partial loop iterations within the loop and then the unwinding at the end can handle whole loop iterations. I also renamed the labels to describe what the goto does and not where the goto was located.
CVE-2025-39873 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-01-20 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: xilinx_can: xcan_write_frame(): fix use-after-free of transmitted SKB can_put_echo_skb() takes ownership of the SKB and it may be freed during or after the call. However, xilinx_can xcan_write_frame() keeps using SKB after the call. Fix that by only calling can_put_echo_skb() after the code is done touching the SKB. The tx_lock is held for the entire xcan_write_frame() execution and also on the can_get_echo_skb() side so the order of operations does not matter. An earlier fix commit 3d3c817c3a40 ("can: xilinx_can: Fix usage of skb memory") did not move the can_put_echo_skb() call far enough. [mkl: add "commit" in front of sha1 in patch description] [mkl: fix indention]

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fec: Fix possible NPD in fec_enet_phy_reset_after_clk_enable() The function of_phy_find_device may return NULL, so we need to take care before dereferencing phy_dev.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/damon/sysfs: fix use-after-free in state_show() state_show() reads kdamond->damon_ctx without holding damon_sysfs_lock. This allows a use-after-free race: CPU 0 CPU 1 ----- ----- state_show() damon_sysfs_turn_damon_on() ctx = kdamond->damon_ctx; mutex_lock(&damon_sysfs_lock); damon_destroy_ctx(kdamond->damon_ctx); kdamond->damon_ctx = NULL; mutex_unlock(&damon_sysfs_lock); damon_is_running(ctx); /* ctx is freed */ mutex_lock(&ctx->kdamond_lock); /* UAF */ (The race can also occur with damon_sysfs_kdamonds_rm_dirs() and damon_sysfs_kdamond_release(), which free or replace the context under damon_sysfs_lock.) Fix by taking damon_sysfs_lock before dereferencing the context, mirroring the locking used in pid_show(). The bug has existed since state_show() first accessed kdamond->damon_ctx.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/fpu: Fix copy_xstate_to_uabi() to copy init states correctly When an extended state component is not present in fpstate, but in init state, the function copies from init_fpstate via copy_feature(). But, dynamic states are not present in init_fpstate because of all-zeros init states. Then retrieving them from init_fpstate will explode like this: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 ... The dynamic features depend on the compacted XSAVE format. Ensure it is enabled before reading XCOMP_BV in init_fpstate.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: remoteproc: imx_dsp_rproc: Add mutex protection for workqueue The workqueue may execute late even after remoteproc is stopped or stopping, some resources (rpmsg device and endpoint) have been released in rproc_stop_subdevices(), then rproc_vq_interrupt() accessing these resources will cause kennel dump. Also the flush workqueue operation can't be added in rproc stop for the same reason. The call sequence is rproc_shutdown -> rproc_stop ->rproc_stop_subdevices ->rproc->ops->stop() ->imx_dsp_rproc_stop ->flush_work -> rproc_vq_interrupt The resource needed by rproc_vq_interrupt has been released in rproc_stop_subdevices, so flush_work is not safe to be called in imx_dsp_rproc_stop.
