CVE-2026-98060 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject resilient lock operations in rbtree callbacks __bpf_rbtree_add() keeps parent and link pointers live across calls to the program-supplied comparison callback. The verifier therefore requires the root's lock to remain held throughout the callback. The helper path enforces this rule for bpf_spin_lock() and bpf_spin_unlock(), but the resilient lock kfunc argument path does not. Since resilient locks may protect BPF rbtree roots, a callback can release the root lock and let another CPU remove and free the node referenced by the in-progress tree walk. The walk then resumes using freed pointers. Reject resilient lock kfuncs in an rbtree comparison callback, matching the existing policy for the spin lock helpers. Resilient-lock-protected trees remain valid when their comparison callbacks leave lock state alone.
CVE-2026-97222 1 Gnome 1 Gnumeric 2026-09-26 5.5 Medium
A heap use-after-free flaw was found in Gnumeric. When a user opens a crafted Gnumeric workbook containing a malformed SheetObjectComponent element, the XML parser can dereference a freed sheet-object component, causing Gnumeric to crash.
CVE-2026-93827 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 8.4 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: virtio-fs: avoid double-free on failed queue setup virtio_fs_setup_vqs() allocates fs->vqs and fs->mq_map before calling virtio_find_vqs(). If virtio_find_vqs() fails, the error path frees both pointers and returns an error to virtio_fs_probe(). virtio_fs_probe() then drops the last kobject reference, and virtio_fs_ktype_release() frees fs->vqs and fs->mq_map again. This leaves dangling pointers in struct virtio_fs and can trigger a double-free during probe failure cleanup. Set fs->vqs and fs->mq_map to NULL immediately after kfree() in the virtio_fs_setup_vqs() error path so that the later kobject release sees an uninitialized state and kfree(NULL) becomes harmless. This can be reproduced when a broken virtio-fs device advertises more request queues than the transport actually provides. In that case virtio_find_vqs() fails while setting up the extra queue, and the probe path reaches the double-free cleanup sequence.
CVE-2026-93209 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_core: use skb_get() instead of skb_clone() for req_skb BT enable fails intermittently with -ETIMEDOUT (-110). The kernel log shows the HCI Read Local Version command was sent and the firmware replied with status 0x00 (logged by hci_req_cmd_complete() BT_DBG), but the waiter in __hci_cmd_sync_sk() never woke up and timed out after 10 s: bluetooth hci0: Opcode 0xfc00 // __hci_cmd_sync_sk bluetooth hci0: opcode 0xfc00 plen 1 // hci_cmd_sync_add bluetooth hci0: skb len 4 // hci_cmd_sync_alloc bluetooth hci0: length 1 // hci_req_sync_run Bluetooth: hci0 cmd_cnt 1 cmd queued 1 // hci_cmd_work Bluetooth: hci0 type 1 len 4 // hci_send_frame Bluetooth: opcode 0xfc00 status 0x00 // hci_req_cmd_complete <-- req_skb NULL: req_complete_skb not set, hci_cmd_sync_complete() never called, req_status stays HCI_REQ_PEND --> <-- 10 s later: wait_event_interruptible_timeout expires --> bluetooth hci0: end: err -110 // __hci_cmd_sync_sk The root cause is that hci_send_cmd_sync() clones the sent command into hdev->req_skb so that hci_req_cmd_complete() can locate the registered completion callback. Under memory pressure this skb_clone() fails, leaving hdev->req_skb NULL. The firmware reply is received and processed, but hci_req_cmd_complete() finds NULL req_skb, so hci_cmd_sync_complete() is never called, req_status stays HCI_REQ_PEND, and the waiter times out with -ETIMEDOUT. req_skb is only used to read bt_cb(skb)->hci callbacks and opcode -- it is never modified. Replace skb_clone() with skb_get(), which simply increments the reference count of hdev->sent_cmd without allocating new memory and therefore cannot fail. This issue was first observed as a use-after-free in ttyport_close() when ttyport_open() failed, which was investigated in an earlier patch series [1]. That investigation led to the discovery of the true root cause described above. [1] https://lore.kernel.org/all/20250430111617.1151390-1-quic_cxin@quicinc.com/
CVE-2026-93215 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cdx: Fix double free when sysfs file creation fails In cdx_create_res_attr(), if sysfs_create_bin_file() fails, the code frees res_attr but doesn't set cdx_dev->res_attr[num] to NULL. This leaves a dangling pointer in the array. Then cdx_destroy_res_attr() frees the already-freed memory. Fix the double free by initializing cdx_dev->res_attr[num] after sysfs_create_bin_file() completes.
CVE-2026-97932 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Don't dereference trace_event_file in deferred trigger free The enable_event trigger defers trace_event_put_ref() to the trigger free kthread, but the trace_event_file can already be freed when the instance is removed. Keep the trace_event_call directly in enable_trigger_data so the deferred free does not access the freed trace_event_file.
CVE-2026-97908 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btqcomsmd: destroy RPMsg endpoints before freeing hci_dev The command and ACL RPMsg endpoints store struct btqcomsmd as their callback private data. The receive callbacks dereference btq->hdev without taking an hci_dev reference. The current teardown order frees the hci_dev before destroying the RPMsg endpoints in both the hci_register_dev() error path and the driver remove path. If WCNSS delivers data in that window, the endpoint callback can run with an already freed hci_dev and pass it to the Bluetooth core. For qcom_smd endpoints, rpmsg_destroy_ept() closes the channel and clears the callback under the channel recv_lock. The receive path holds the same lock while invoking the callback, so destroying the endpoints first both prevents new callbacks and serializes with any callback already running. Destroy the command and ACL endpoints before hci_free_dev(). Keep hci_unregister_dev() first during remove so the HCI core stops issuing operations before the transport endpoints are shut down. In the full registration-error cleanup path, return directly after freeing the hci_dev to avoid falling through to the partial-construction labels and destroying the endpoints twice.
CVE-2026-96889 1 Redhat 1 Enterprise Linux 2026-09-25 7.8 High
A flaw was found in librsvg. When processing an SVG document containing nested XML inclusions (Xincludes) with duplicate entity declarations, a use-after-free error can occur. This vulnerability arises because the library incorrectly frees an XML entity that is still in use by the parser. An attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code.
CVE-2026-32157 1 Microsoft 33 Remote Desktop, Remote Desktop Client, Windows 10 1607 and 30 more 2026-09-25 8.8 High
Use after free in Remote Desktop Client allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network.
CVE-2026-98099 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: mcast: use rcu_assign_pointer() for __rcu list updates Several places in net/ipv6/mcast.c update RCU-protected lists (np->ipv6_mc_list, idev->mc_list, idev->mc_tomb) using direct pointer assignments instead of rcu_assign_pointer(): 1. In __ipv6_dev_mc_dec(), unlinking a group from idev->mc_list did: *map = ma->next; without rcu_assign_pointer() while concurrent readers traverse idev->mc_list locklessly under rcu_read_lock(). 2. In ipv6_sock_mc_drop() and __ipv6_sock_mc_close(), unlinking a group from np->ipv6_mc_list directly assigned *lnk = mc_lst->next and np->ipv6_mc_list = mc_lst->next without rcu_assign_pointer(), racing with lockless readers in inet6_mc_check(). 3. In __ipv6_sock_mc_join(), mc_lst->next was initialized to np->ipv6_mc_list via raw assignment before publishing mc_lst. 4. In mld_del_delrec() and __ipv6_dev_mc_inc(), __rcu source pointers passed into rcu_assign_pointer() lacked explicit dereference helpers. Fix these by consistently using rcu_assign_pointer() along with mc_dereference() / sock_dereference().
CVE-2026-95834 1 Kovidgoyal 1 Kitty 2026-09-25 N/A
Use After Free in the drag source path of the drag and drop protocol in kitty from 0.47.0 before 0.49.0 allows a program writing to the terminal to cause the terminal to read from and write to freed heap memory, because drag_remote_file_data() in kitty/dnd.c holds a DragRemoteItem pointer into an array it does not own, calls toplevel_data_for_drag() or subdir_data_for_drag(), and then continues to use that pointer. Those helpers, and add_payload() and populate_dir_entries() which they call, report errors through the abrt() macro, which expands to cancel_drag() followed by a plain return, and cancel_drag() calls drag_free_offer(), which frees the array the pointer refers to. The helpers return void, so the caller receives no indication that the teardown happened, and proceeds to call all_children_complete() on the freed pointer, which dereferences it, and then to write through it. That dereference is guarded by a local flag that is set when the request carries no payload and announces no further data, which is the same condition that selects the finalisation block of add_payload(), so the error paths in that block reach it: a create that fails because an entry of the same name already exists, because the client may declare two entries with one name and the create operations use O_CREAT with O_EXCL and symlinkat(), a mkdirat() failure other than EEXIST, and the directory entry allocation paths. Both branches reach it. In the top level branch the caller's pointer is never cleared, so clearing the owning structure's own pointers during teardown does not help. In the sub directory branch subdir_data_for_drag() sets the caller's pointer to NULL on entry and assigns it only after its own last error path, so its own aborts leave the caller with NULL and are stopped by a null check, but it then calls add_payload() with that pointer set, and an abort there leaves the caller holding a freed child node inside the item tree, which drag_free_offer() frees by recursion. This results in undefined behaviour in the terminal process, reachable from the byte stream of any program running in the window.
CVE-2026-97553 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: lock the healthmon when inserting unmount event LOLLM complains that xfs_healthmon_unmount does an unlocked insert of the unmount event into the health monitor's event list. Fix that.

CVE-2026-18711 1 Mongodb 2 Mongodb, Mongodb Server 2026-09-25 7.1 High
An issue in MongoDB Server's query execution engine could allow an authenticated user with read and write privileges to cause an internal reference to be used after the underlying memory has been freed, when running certain queries against time-series collections. This could result in a server crash or disclosure of freed memory contents within query results.

CVE-2026-93262 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md/raid5-ppl: fix use-after-free in ppl_do_flush() The loop in ppl_do_flush() continues iterating after calling ppl_io_unit_finished(), touching io->pending_flushes and leading to a use-after-free. Add a break statement to stop the loop once io is freed.
CVE-2026-93205 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Manage teardown with devm arm_smmu_device_remove() manually frees the IOPF queue, destroys the vmid_map and disables the device, while the IRQs and queues are devm managed. devm unwinds only after remove() returns, so the cleanup runs in the wrong order. The IOPF queue is freed before the event-queue IRQ whose handler uses it. Manage all of it with devm so the unwind order is correct. Free the IOPF queue and vmid_map via devm actions, and disable the device from one registered after arm_smmu_device_reset(). This is also a prerequisite for fixing a Tegra241 CMDQV CMD_SYNC use-after-free in the subsequent patch.
CVE-2026-93251 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-25 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPI: bus: Introduce acpi_bus_get_primary_device() The function used for obtaining the first "physical" device for which the given ACPI one is the ACPI companion, acpi_get_first_physical_node(), may return a stale device pointer (mostly in theory) because acpi_unbind_one() may run as a whole after dropping the ACPI device's physical_node_lock in acpi_get_first_physical_node() and before it returns. The last reference to the "physical" device may be dropped then before the pointer to it is returned to the caller. If that happens and the acpi_get_first_physical_node() caller invokes get_device() on the pointer obtained from it, which is done by the majority of its callers, a use-after-free will occur. To prepare for addressing this problem, introduce a new function for getting the first "physical" device associated with the given ACPI one (the "primary physical device") that will also reference count the device in question before returning a pointer to it. Make that new function and acpi_get_first_physical_node() share the physical node list lookup code. No intentional functional impact.
