CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfs: don't swallow dquot recovery verification errors
xlog_recover_dquot_commit_pass2() validates the recovered dquot with
xfs_dqblk_verify() and, on failure, sets error = -EFSCORRUPTED and jumps
to out_release. But out_release unconditionally returns 0, so the
corruption error is discarded: the caller xlog_recover_items_pass2()
sees success, log recovery proceeds as if the dquot were valid, and the
corrupt quota buffer can be written back to disk. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/shmem_helper: Check VMA boundaries for PMD mappings
In the ->huge_fault handler do not install a PMD huge page
mapping if the huge page exceeds the boundaries of the VMA.
All other ->huge_fault handlers have similar checks and the
resulting mapping will trigger a VM_BUG_ON_VMA() if it ever
reaches copy_pmd_range(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipvs: revalidate ihl to prevent out-of-bounds access
While the outer IP header is already pulled into the skb head,
we must be careful and revalidate the embedded headers after
reading them from the skb frags to prevent out-of-bounds
access.
One such place reported by Sashiko is ip_vs_nat_icmp() where
local process can change the ihl field and after
skb_ensure_writable() we can see larger value which is a
problem for the ip_send_check(cih) calls.
Add check to drop the packet if the ihl field is changed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
s390/zcrypt: Pad trailing CCA or EP11 message with zeros
The both functions xcrb_msg_to_type6cprb_msgx() and
xcrb_msg_to_type6_ep11cprb_msgx() copy the user space message into a
kernel buffer based on the message length. But on further processing
the message is supposed to be 4 byte length adjusted. Thus up to 3
bytes of uninitialized kernel memory are forwarded to further
processing steps and may unwanted expose kernel memory to the crypto
card firmware.
This patch contains code to pad the gap between user space copied
message and message buffer length sent down to further processing of
the CCA or EP11 message to zeros. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/openvswitch: check Ethernet header length in key_extract()
When a packet arrives on an ARPHRD_NONE device (e.g. TUN),
ovs_flow_key_extract() trusts the user-provided skb->protocol field: if
it is ETH_P_TEB, the packet is classified as MAC_PROTO_ETHERNET and
key_extract() is called without ensuring the skb has ETH_HLEN (14) bytes
of linear data. key_extract() unconditionally pulls 2 * ETH_ALEN bytes
for MAC addresses and parse_ethertype() pulls 2 more, either of which
triggers a kernel BUG in __skb_pull() when the linear area is too small.
kernel BUG at include/linux/skbuff.h:2848!

Fixed by calling check_header() in key_extract() before accessing the
Ethernet header. |
| In NTFS-3G through 2026.2.25, an out-of-bounds read exists in ntfs_ir_nill() in libntfs-3g/index.c that allows an attacker to read possibly confidential information in an ntfs-3g process by crafting a malicious NTFS image. This read operation is triggered by creation of a file with a crafted name. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: bridge: mrp: fix uninitialised bytes on the wire
br_mrp_alloc_test_skb() builds MRP test frames on an skb from
dev_alloc_skb(), which does not clear the linear data area. On the MRA
ring-role branch the sub-option TLV header is appended with
sub_tlv = skb_put(skb, sizeof(*sub_tlv));
sub_tlv->type = BR_MRP_SUB_TLV_HEADER_TEST_AUTO_MGR;
so sub_tlv->length is never written, and the two trailing alignment bytes
are appended with a bare skb_put() that does not clear them either. The
neighbouring oui and sub_opt regions are explicitly zeroed, so three
uninitialised bytes are left in every MRA MRP_Test frame that goes out.
Put the sub-option TLV header and the alignment padding in a single
skb_put_zero(), which clears both. The AUTO_MGR sub-TLV carries no
payload, so the zeroed length field is already the value it should have. |
| A vulnerability in the memory management handling for the Snort 3 Detection Engine of Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the Snort 3 Detection Engine to restart.
This vulnerability is due to a logic error in memory management when a device is performing Snort 3 SSL packet inspection. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted SSL packets through an established connection to be parsed by the Snort 3 Detection Engine. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition when the Snort 3 Detection Engine unexpectedly restarts. |

In regs_get_kernel_stack_nth, regs->sp contains an arbitrary value.
arch_rethook_trampoline saves the registers from the probed function in a
struct pt_regs. sp is not saved. Instead, sp is decremented for
arch_rethook_trampoline's local stack.
Fix this crash and save the original sp along with the other registers.
Use a0 as a temporary register, it is overwritten anyway.

| A vulnerability in the Snort 2 and Snort 3 TCP and UDP detection engine of Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software for Cisco Firepower 2100 Series Appliances could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause memory corruption, which could cause the Snort detection engine to restart unexpectedly.
This vulnerability is due to improper memory management when the Snort detection engine processes specific TCP or UDP packets. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted TCP or UDP packets through a device that is inspecting traffic using the Snort detection engine. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to restart the Snort detection engine repeatedly, which could cause a denial of service (DoS) condition. The DoS condition impacts only the traffic through the device that is examined by the Snort detection engine. The device can still be managed over the network.
Note: Once a memory block is corrupted, it cannot be cleared until the Cisco Firepower 2100 Series Appliance is manually reloaded. This means that the Snort detection engine could crash repeatedly, causing traffic that is processed by the Snort detection engine to be dropped until the device is manually reloaded. |
| A vulnerability in the SSL VPN feature for Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause an affected device to reload unexpectedly, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition.
This vulnerability is due to a logic error in memory management when the device is handling SSL VPN connections. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted SSL/TLS packets to the SSL VPN server of the affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the device to reload, resulting in a DoS condition. |
| The WP Travel Engine WordPress plugin before 6.8.1 does not properly validate the source of a user-supplied profile image path before moving the file, allowing authenticated users with subscriber-level access and above to relocate arbitrary files within the WordPress uploads directory into their own profile-image path. This removes the targeted media from its original location and can break content across the site. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mtd: spi-nor: debugfs: fix out-of-bounds read in spi_nor_params_show()
Sashiko noticed an out-of-bounds read [1].
In spi_nor_params_show(), the snor_f_names array is passed to
spi_nor_print_flags() using sizeof(snor_f_names).
Since snor_f_names is an array of pointers, sizeof() returns the total
number of bytes occupied by the pointers
(element_count * sizeof(void *))
rather than the element count itself. On 64-bit systems, this makes the
passed length 8x larger than intended.
Inside spi_nor_print_flags(), the 'names_len' argument is used to
bounds-check the 'names' array access. An out-of-bounds read occurs
if a flag bit is set that exceeds the array's actual element count
but is within the inflated byte-size count.
Correct this by using ARRAY_SIZE() to pass the actual number of
string pointers in the array. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cpuidle: Skip governor when only one idle state is available
On certain platforms (PowerNV systems without a power-mgt DT node),
cpuidle may register only a single idle state. In cases where that
single state is a polling state (state 0), the ladder governor may
incorrectly treat state 1 as the first usable state and pass an
out-of-bounds index. This can lead to a NULL enter callback being
invoked, ultimately resulting in a system crash.
[ 13.342636] cpuidle-powernv : Only Snooze is available

[ 13.378351] LR [c000000001e01974] cpuidle_enter_state+0x2c4/0x668
Fix this by adding a bail-out in cpuidle_select() that returns state 0
directly when state_count <= 1, bypassing the governor and keeping the
tick running. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: ctxfi: Limit PTP to a single page
Commit 391e69143d0a increased CT_PTP_NUM from 1 to 4 to support 256
playback streams, but the additional pages are not used by the card
correctly. The CT20K2 hardware already has multiple VMEM_PTPAL
registers, but using them separately would require refactoring the
entire virtual memory allocation logic.
ct_vm_map() always uses PTEs in vm->ptp[0].area regardless of
CT_PTP_NUM. On AMD64 systems, a single PTP covers 512 PTEs (2M). When
aggregate memory allocations exceed this limit, ct_vm_map() tries to
access beyond the allocated space and causes a page fault:

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfrm: Wait for RCU readers during policy netns exit
xfrm_policy_fini() frees the policy_bydst hash tables after flushing the
policy work items and deleting all policies, but it does not wait for
concurrent RCU readers to leave their read-side critical sections first.
The policy_bydst tables are published via rcu_assign_pointer() and are
looked up through rcu_dereference_check(), so netns teardown must also
wait for an RCU grace period before freeing the table memory.
Fix this by adding synchronize_rcu() before freeing the policy hash tables. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
clk: rs9: Reserve 8 struct clk_hw slots for for 9FGV0841
The 9FGV0841 has 8 outputs and registers 8 struct clk_hw, make sure
there are 8 slots for those newly registered clk_hw pointers, else
there is going to be out of bounds write when pointers 4..7 are set
into struct rs9_driver_data .clk_dif[4..7] field.
Since there are other structure members past this struct clk_hw
pointer array, writing to .clk_dif[4..7] fields corrupts both
the struct rs9_driver_data content and data around it, sometimes
without crashing the kernel. However, the kernel does surely
crash when the driver is unbound or during suspend.
Fix this, increase the struct clk_hw pointer array size to the
maximum output count of 9FGV0841, which is the biggest chip that
is supported by this driver. |
