CVE-2026-98441 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: act_ct: avoid modifying shared unconfirmed ct entry In a case where skb with an unconfirmed ct entry gets cloned, we may end up processing both again but with different sets of extensions. The series of events: 1. The first clone wants to commit and runs the helpers wiring up the extension pointer into the expectation list. 2. Then it looses the confirmation keeping the entry unconfirmed. 3. Second clone now wants to commit labels or run NAT and adds the new extension for that breaking the pointer in the expectation list causing UAF on the destruction path later. While this is possible to trigger, there should be no practical network pipeline where we need to process both clones without modifications in the same zone. So, let's just reset the entry in case for some reason we got an skb with a shared one. This doesn't affect any known use cases, but avoids any potential problems with sharing and modification of the unconfirmed ct entry. Unlike openvswitch module, act_ct allows for NAT without commit. Changing that would be a uAPI break. So, act_ct needs to reset on NAT regardless of the commit flag to avoid reallocation of the extension space. This, however, doesn't really change the picture for sensible networking cases as there should be no need to run the same packet twice (before and after the clone) through conntrack without packet header or zone changes and without commit. The fixes tag points to the introduction of helpers, since that's the main UAF trigger for the sharing.
CVE-2026-98440 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: nv: Delay freeing of shadow S2 structures until VM destruction We free the shadow S2 structures from kvm_arch_flush_shadow_all(), which is a Bad Idea(tm). Freeing the page tables is fair game (this is what this callback is for), but freeing the container that could still be referenced by another part of the system is not great. Instead, grow separate destructors that gets called when we tear the VM down for good. From there, we can nuke both the individual MMUs as well as the global array that points to them, safe in the knowledge that the vcpus themselves have been destroyed already.
CVE-2026-98432 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: free inet_opt and ireq_opt after an RCU grace period tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock() transfers ownership of ireq->ireq_opt to the child socket (newinet->inet_opt) without copying it. Another cpu can concurrently process a retransmitted SYN for the same request socket, and send a SYNACK from tcp_check_req(). tcp_v4_send_synack() and inet_csk_route_req() read ireq->ireq_opt under rcu_read_lock() only, and ip_build_and_send_pkt() and ip_options_build() then read opt->optlen twice. Note that the SYNACK timer itself is not an issue: it holds a reference on its request socket, and inet_csk_reqsk_queue_drop() calls timer_delete_sync() before the child can be freed. Since commit 079096f103fa ("tcp/dccp: install syn_recv requests into ehash table"), request sockets are processed without holding the listener lock, so nothing prevents the child socket from being freed while the SYNACK is still being built. TCP child sockets do not have SOCK_RCU_FREE, and inet_sock_destruct() frees inet_opt with a plain kfree(), leading to a use-after-free in ip_options_build(). A similar issue exists with request socket migration (net.ipv4.tcp_migrate_req=1, or a BPF_SK_REUSEPORT_SELECT_OR_MIGRATE program). reqsk_timer_handler() clones the request socket with inet_reqsk_clone(), so that the old request socket and its clone share the same ireq_opt, then reqsk_migrate_reset() clears the pointer in the old one. Another cpu holding a reference on the old request socket can still be using these options (sending a SYNACK, or creating a child in tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock()) when the clone is freed, and tcp_v4_reqsk_destructor() also uses a plain kfree(). Readers already use RCU, and other paths replacing inet_opt (do_ip_setsockopt(), cipso_v4_sock_setattr()...) already use kfree_rcu(). Use kfree_rcu() in inet_sock_destruct() and tcp_v4_reqsk_destructor() as well. IPv6 is not affected by the first issue, because tcp_v6_syn_recv_sock() duplicates the options. tcp_v6_reqsk_destructor() has the same migration issue with ipv6_opt, which is only set by CALIPSO. This will be addressed in a separate patch.
CVE-2026-98405 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 8.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix missing iov bounds check in parse_posix_sids() In parse_posix_sids(), sidsbuf_end is calculated using the server-supplied out_len without being validated against the actual length of the received iov (iov_len). If a server provides an inflated out_len, sidsbuf_end will point past the end of the iov. This defeats the bounds guards in posix_info_sid_size(), allowing out-of-bounds reads into adjacent kernel memory. Fix this by rejecting responses where the calculated sidsbuf_end would exceed the received iov boundaries or cause pointer wraparound.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: iptunnel: fix stale transport header during tunnel decapsulation Syzbot reported a crash in qdisc_pkt_len_segs_init() caused by a stale transport_header offset after tunnel decapsulation. The crash requires four conditions to line up: 1. The incoming packet is encapsulated and carries GSO metadata. The outer transport header offset is stored in skb->transport_header while the packet is still in the outer tunnel context. 2. The tunnel receiver strips the outer headers. skb->data is advanced to the inner frame, but skb->transport_header is left pointing to the now-removed outer L4 header, so it becomes a negative offset relative to the new data. 3. The inner frame is not delivered to the local IP stack. Instead, it is forwarded at L2 by a bridge or HSR, so ip_rcv_core() never runs and the transport header is not reset to the inner L4 offset. 4. The forwarding path calls __dev_queue_xmit(), which enters qdisc_pkt_len_segs_init(). That function computes the GSO header length from skb_transport_offset(skb). Because the offset is negative, the unsigned cast overflows and pskb_may_pull(skb, hdr_len + sizeof(struct tcphdr)) reads past the end of the skb, triggering a KASAN fault or page fault. The issue specifically requires GSO packets (shinfo->gso_size != 0), which are processed/aggregated through gro_cells. Fix this by clearing transport_header to the ~0U sentinel in gro_cell for all tunnnel driver. GTP does not support GRO/GSO, drop the evil GSO packets in GTP directly.
CVE-2026-98383 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Disallow bpf_skb_pull_data() for LWT_SEG6LOCAL An LWT_SEG6LOCAL program can invalidate its cached SRH with bpf_lwt_seg6_adjust_srh() and then call bpf_skb_pull_data(). The latter may reallocate skb->head, leaving the per-CPU SRH pointer dangling. Post-program SRH validation then writes through that pointer. Disallow bpf_skb_pull_data() for LWT_SEG6LOCAL programs so the verifier rejects this unsafe helper combination. Other LWT program types continue to expose the helper through lwt_out_func_proto().
CVE-2026-98382 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject dev-bound-only programs on other devices __bpf_offload_dev_match() falls back to comparing offdev pointers after an exact netdev mismatch. Bound-only programs normally have NULL offdevs, so unrelated netdevs compare equal. A bound-only program on an offload-registered netdev can instead inherit a real offdev and match a sibling port. With CAP_BPF and CAP_NET_ADMIN, a caller can use bpf(BPF_LINK_CREATE) with a different target ifindex to run metadata kfuncs specialized for the bound driver on the target driver's xdp_buff. Running a veth-bound program on tun reads beyond tun's bare stack xdp_buff as a veth_xdp_buff. CVE-2026-98376 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Use array_map_meta_equal for percpu array inner map replacement percpu_array_map_ops.map_meta_equal points to the generic bpf_map_meta_equal(), which does not compare max_entries. When a percpu array serves as an inner map, replacing it with one that has fewer max_entries bypasses the check. Since percpu_array_map_gen_lookup() inlines the original template's index_mask as a JIT immediate, a lookup on the replacement map can access pptrs[] out of bounds. Point percpu_array_map_ops.map_meta_equal to array_map_meta_equal(), which already enforces the max_entries equality check. Add a selftest to verify that replacing a percpu array inner map with a differently-sized one is rejected.
CVE-2026-98374 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: fix use-after-free of retransmit_skb_hint in tcp_send_synack() When tcp_send_synack() replaces the cloned SYN skb at the head of the retransmit queue with a copy, it frees the original with tcp_rtx_queue_unlink_and_free() and only repairs tp->highest_sack. tp->retransmit_skb_hint keeps pointing at the freed skbuff_fclone_cache object. The dangling hint is read in tcp_verify_retransmit_hint() and used as the root of the rbtree walk in tcp_xmit_retransmit_queue(). An unprivileged TFO client (sendmsg(MSG_FASTOPEN)) can arm the hint with an attacker-supplied ICMP fragmentation-needed message, after which a simultaneous open frees the armed SYN skb: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in tcp_mark_skb_lost (net/ipv4/tcp_input.c:1316) Read of size 4 at addr ffff88800604d928 by task swapper/1/0 Call Trace: tcp_mark_skb_lost (net/ipv4/tcp_input.c:1316) tcp_simple_retransmit (net/ipv4/tcp_input.c:3158) tcp_v4_err (net/ipv4/tcp_ipv4.c:587) Sync the hint to the copy.
CVE-2026-98865 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched_ext: Don't run ops.dequeue() with a DSQ lock held ops.dequeue() is invoked with the source user DSQ's lock still held on the consume and move paths (scx_consume_dispatch_q(), move_task_between_dsqs()). A BPF scheduler which locks the source user DSQ from ops.dequeue() - e.g. by iterating it with bpf_iter_scx_dsq - self-deadlocks. ops.dequeue() can only call the "any" kfuncs and none of them can lock a builtin DSQ, so the global and bypass paths can't deadlock; however, all DSQ locks share one lockdep class, so iterating any user DSQ from ops.dequeue() on those paths trips the recursion check. Move the invocation after the DSQ unlock on all three paths. SCX_TASK_IN_CUSTODY is cleared under the lock serializing the transfer so that the callback is invoked exactly once.
CVE-2026-98866 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched/cache: Introduce task_struct->sched_cache_grp to fix UAF Add a sched_cache_grp pointer to task_struct so that scheduler code can access the cache group directly via the task, without going through mm->sched_cache_grp. This decouples the scheduler's hot-path accesses from the mm_struct. Each task holds its own refcount on the sched_cache_group, separate from the reference held by its mm_struct. The reference is acquired in copy_mm() (fork) and exec_mmap() (exec), and released in exit_mm(). This fixes the use-after-free when account_mm_sched() reaches the group through a task whose mm is being switched, as reported by Hyunwoo: https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/apPb-Dr4nPYuHQOK@v4bel/ Convert all scheduler code in fair.c and exit.c to use p->sched_cache_grp instead of p->mm->sched_cache_grp. Keep the fork/exec/exit reference management out of the generic mm paths: add sched_cache_fork(), sched_cache_fork_cleanup(), sched_cache_exec_mmap() and sched_cache_exit_mm() in kernel/sched/cache_sched.c (with empty stubs for !CONFIG_SCHED_CACHE), so fs/exec.c, kernel/fork.c and kernel/exit.c each call one helper instead of open-coding the refcounting under #ifdef. Also add sched_cache_group_get() and task_cache_group_get().
CVE-2026-98984 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dcache: don't put a mountpoint on a dentry that's being removed rmdir(), unlink() and rename() call dont_mount() on the victim and then detach_mounts() with the victim's inode locked. do_lock_mount() takes the inode lock of the mountpoint and checks cant_mount() so a mount can't show up after detach_mounts(). But attach_recursive_mnt() makes a second mountpoint for the root of the source mount so that the mounts already located at the destination can be put on top of it. No inode is locked for that one and d_set_mounted() only refuses a dentry that is unlinked. Between detach_mounts() and d_delete() the victim is still hashed: rmrace: b passed dont_mount() and detach_mounts(), sleeping T2: move_mount(S, /tmp/plcant/x, BENEATH) = 0 errno 0 () T1: rmdir(/tmp/plcant/d/b) = 0 errno 0 109 107 0:61 /d/b//deleted /tmp/plcant/x rw,relatime - tmpfs tmpfs rw 108 109 0:63 / /tmp/plcant/x rw,relatime - tmpfs T rw A bind mount of the directory that's being removed is moved beneath an existing mount while the rmdir() is located between the two calls. The mount ends up on the removed directory and nothing will ever detach it. Check cant_mount() in d_set_mounted() as well. dont_mount() raises the flag under d_lock before detach_mounts() runs so either the mountpoint is set first and detach_mounts() finds the mount or the flag is seen and the mount is refused.
CVE-2026-99031 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: bridge: avoid recursive multicast port cleanup br_multicast_sg_del_exclude_ports() removes automatically added STAR_EXCL port groups by calling br_multicast_del_pg(). For S,G entries, that deletion calls back into br_multicast_sg_del_exclude_ports(), so a large number of STAR_EXCL ports consumes one kernel stack frame per port and can hit the stack guard page. Keep the complete port-group deletion path for cleanup, but suppress the S,G exclude-port cleanup while that helper is already walking the same entry. Normal deletion callers retain the existing behavior.
CVE-2026-98834 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.1 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: core: avoid double-free of OTP NVMEM device If factory OTP setup fails after the user OTP NVMEM device has been registered, mtd_otp_nvmem_add() unregisters the user device but leaves mtd->otp_user_nvmem set. On an error, the caller unregisters it again. For -EOPNOTSUPP, registration continues and normal teardown unregisters it again. Clear mtd->otp_user_nvmem after unregistering it.
CVE-2026-98845 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tpm: Disable TPM on null key name mismatch The null key name check exists to protect against TPM reset attacks, so a mismatch should stop the device from serving further requests. Currently it does not disable the chip when it finds a mismatch. The mismatch is logged: tpm tpm0: null key integrity check failed but the chip keeps serving commands: / # tpm2_getcap -c properties-fixed TPM_PT_FAMILY_INDICATOR: as UINT32: 0x08322e3000 as string: "2.0" ... tpm2_load_null() where the null key name check is run sets the chip as disabled only if the rc is non zero. When the mismatch is seen, rc is zero at that point and it returns success. The other issue is that the caller expects the null key handle to be populated when the function returns 0 which it does here without writing the handle and proceeds assuming the null key handle is valid. During the test, I noticed that tpm2_start_auth_session() uses the uninitialized stack value as the key handle since tpm2_load_null() returns 0 despite the integrity failure and proceeds with TPM2_CC_START_AUTH_SESS with this value as salt key handle. Set rc to -ENODEV on the mismatch. The error path then disables the chip and returns the correct code to the caller. Tested in QEMU with swtpm and CONFIG_TCG_TPM2_HMAC=y by making TPM2_CC_CONTEXT_LOAD fail with TPM2_RC_INTEGRITY and changing the name of the re-created null key. The chip is now disabled on the mismatch.

CVE-2026-98792 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 5.9 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: flowtable: generalize pending status bit Rename NF_FLOW_HW_PENDING to NF_FLOW_PENDING and use it to inhibit the flowtable GC worker until pending hw offload work has been completed. Apparently, nf_flow_offload_stats() can schedule work to retrieve stats while the flow is being removed by GC. And this bit can also be used in a follow up patch to disable GC until the flow has been fully added in both directions. Revert the reordering done in commit d644b23afe1e ("netfilter: flowtable: publish HW_DEAD after worker is done") to prevent a race between GC and hw offload handler.
CVE-2026-98818 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slab: do not wake up kswapd in __kfree_rcu_sheaf() Since kfree_rcu() can be called under pi_lock (a raw spinlock in the scheduler), kfree_rcu() itself should never allocate memory with __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM as waking up kswapd ends up acquiring pi_lock, which leads to a deadlock. Reproducing the issue even intentionally was not straightforward. The set_cpus_allowed_force() path that is called under pi_lock is exercised very rarely, and competing tasks that allocate memory will most likely wake kswapd up. Therefore the existence of the deadlock was verified with a modified kernel that has a lockdep map for waking up kswapd: ====================================================== WARNING: possible circular locking dependency detected 7.2.0-rc1-slab-for-next+ #10 Not tainted ------------------------------------------------------ git/6660 is trying to acquire lock: ffff8e524533c550 (&p->pi_lock){-.-.}-{2:2}, at: _raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x12/0x20 but task is already holding lock: ffff8e57bffff1a0 (&pgdat->kswapd_wait){....}-{3:3}, at: _raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x12/0x20 which lock already depends on the new lock. the existing dependency chain (in reverse order) is: -> #2 (&pgdat->kswapd_wait){....}-{3:3}: __lock_acquire+0x5a4/0xc50 lock_acquire.part.0+0xb7/0x240 lock_acquire+0x70/0x170 __raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x44/0x80 _raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x12/0x20 __wake_up_common_lock+0x31/0xa0 __wake_up+0x20/0x40 kswapd_wakeup_wake+0x7e/0x110 wakeup_kswapd+0x295/0x320 wake_all_kswapds+0xac/0x1a0 __alloc_pages_slowpath.constprop.0+0x282/0xf80 __alloc_frozen_pages_noprof+0x32a/0x360 alloc_slab_page+0x2e/0x160 allocate_slab+0x82/0x420 new_slab+0x52/0xb0 refill_objects+0x13d/0x190 refill_sheaf+0x5d/0xd0 __pcs_replace_empty_main+0x230/0xb10 [...] -> #1 (kswapd_wakeup){-.-.}-{0:0}: __lock_acquire+0x5a4/0xc50 lock_sync.part.0+0x75/0x100 lock_sync+0x36/0x70 might_wakeup_kswapd+0x61/0xa0 __kfree_rcu_sheaf+0x33/0xd90 kvfree_call_rcu+0x1d4/0x3b0 set_cpus_allowed_force+0x163/0x220 cpuset_cpus_allowed_fallback+0x18b/0x240 select_fallback_rq+0x1e6/0x250 [...] -> #0 (&p->pi_lock){-.-.}-{2:2}: check_prev_add+0xe6/0xe00 validate_chain+0x51e/0x6e0 __lock_acquire+0x5a4/0xc50 lock_acquire.part.0+0xb7/0x240 lock_acquire+0x70/0x170 __raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x44/0x80 _raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x12/0x20 try_to_wake_up+0x77/0xa90 default_wake_function+0x27/0x60 autoremove_wake_function+0x23/0xb0 __wake_up_common+0xb8/0x170 __wake_up_common_lock+0x51/0xa0 __wake_up+0x20/0x40 kswapd_wakeup_wake+0x7e/0x110 wakeup_kswapd+0x295/0x320 wake_all_kswapds+0xac/0x1a0 __alloc_pages_slowpath.constprop.0+0x282/0xf80 __alloc_frozen_pages_noprof+0x32a/0x360 alloc_slab_page+0x2e/0x160 allocate_slab+0x82/0x420 new_slab+0x52/0xb0 refill_objects+0x13d/0x190 refill_sheaf+0x5d/0xd0 __pcs_replace_empty_main+0x230/0xb10 [...] other info that might help us debug this: Chain exists of: &p->pi_lock --> kswapd_wakeup --> &pgdat->kswapd_wait Possible unsafe locking scenario: CPU0 CPU1 ---- ---- lock(&pgdat->kswapd_wait); lock(kswapd_wakeup); lock(&pgdat->kswapd_wait); lock(&p->pi_lock); *** DEADLOCK *** 3 locks held by git/6660: #0: ffff8e519f0e9e20 (&type->i_mutex_dir_key#6){++++}-{4:4}, at: lookup_slow+0x2d/0x60 #1: ffffffff8a31c460 (kswapd_wakeup){-.-.}- ---truncated---
CVE-2026-98855 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: of/overlay: put property on deadprops only after changeset add succeeds add_changeset_property() links a new property of a not-yet-live target node into the node's deadprops list before handing it to of_changeset_add_property(). If that fails, the error path frees the property but leaves the freed pointer linked in deadprops, and of_node_release() frees it a second time when the aborted overlay's node is released. Record the changeset entry first and link the property into deadprops only on success. of_changeset_add_property() never looks at the node's property lists, so the order of the two steps is otherwise immaterial, and the error path frees a property that nothing references.
