| NULL Pointer Dereference (CWE-476) in the AMQP protocol parser in Packetbeat can lead to denial of service via specially crafted network traffic. An unauthenticated attacker who can send traffic on a network segment that Packetbeat monitors for AMQP can cause a Go runtime panic that terminates the Packetbeat process. A single crafted packet is sufficient. No AMQP authentication is necessary. While Packetbeat is not running, it does not collect network telemetry. |
| Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Elasticsearch can lead to information disclosure via Accessing Functionality Not Properly Constrained by ACLs (CAPEC-1). An authenticated user whose index access is restricted by field-level security can retrieve the value of a constant_keyword field that their role excludes. Some search and query features do not apply the field-level security restriction to this field type. |
| Use of Cache Containing Sensitive Information (CWE-524) in Elasticsearch can lead to information disclosure and incorrect search results via specially crafted search requests. For some query types, Elasticsearch can share cached query results between users who have field-level security restrictions and users who do not. A user restricted by field-level security can learn which documents match a value in a field that they cannot read. A restricted user can also cause users with full access to receive incomplete search results. Disclosure is only possible when a user with full access ran the same query on the same shard recently. |
| Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CWE-770) in Elasticsearch can lead to denial of service via a specially crafted input value that is processed by an affected phonetic encoder of the analysis-phonetic plugin. An authenticated user with permission to write documents to or run searches against an index that uses an affected encoder can cause an Elasticsearch node to exhaust its heap memory. The node can become unresponsive or terminate. |
| Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CWE-770) in APM Server can lead to denial of service via Oversized Serialized Data Payloads (CAPEC-231). An attacker who can send OpenTelemetry (OTLP) data to APM Server over HTTP can cause APM Server to exhaust its memory and terminate. This stops the intake of APM and OpenTelemetry data until APM Server restarts. |
| MongoDB Database Tools mongofiles does not resolve existing parent-directory symlinks when validating output paths for get_regex. An unauthorized user who can both upload a GridFS file and place a symlink in the operator's download working directory can cause a later retrieval to create a file containing unauthorized user-controlled data outside that directory, using the operator process's filesystem permissions. The issue can occur with default traversal and overwrite settings. Exploitation requires an operator to retrieve matching files from the affected working directory; the demonstrated default behavior creates a new file rather than overwriting an existing file. This issue affects MongoDB Database Tools versions 100.2.0 through versions before 100.20.1. |
| Use of Multiple Resources with Duplicate Identifier (CWE-694) in APM Server can lead to information disclosure via a specially crafted agent configuration request. An authenticated APM agent could receive the central agent configuration that belongs to a different service until the cached configuration expires. A service could also run with central configuration settings, such as sampling settings, that were meant for a different service. |
| Uncontrolled Recursion (CWE-674) in Elasticsearch can lead to denial of service via Serialized Data with Nested Payloads (CAPEC-230). An unauthenticated attacker with network access to the remote cluster server interface of a node can send a specially crafted request that causes the node to terminate. No credentials are required. The attacker can repeat the request against each reachable node. |
| Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key (CWE-639) in Kibana Machine Learning can lead to information disclosure via Accessing Functionality Not Properly Constrained by ACLs (CAPEC-1). An authenticated user with Machine Learning read access in one Kibana space can read the audit and error messages of data frame analytics jobs that belong to other spaces that the user is not authorized to access. These messages can include job details such as destination index names, analyzed field names, and failure information. |
| Insertion of Sensitive Information Into Sent Data (CWE-201) in Kibana Observability onboarding can lead to disclosure of the credentials that Kibana uses to connect to Elasticsearch. When these credentials are embedded in the Elasticsearch host URLs in the Kibana configuration, an authenticated user with the privileges to onboard Observability data can obtain them. The user can then access Elasticsearch directly with the privileges of the Kibana service account, which are outside the privileges granted to that user. |
| Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory (CWE-22) in the Kibana Fleet feature can lead to unauthorized resource deletion via Path Traversal (CAPEC-126). A low-privileged user with Fleet agent policies write access could cause a subsequent administrative action to act on unintended resources. This can result in the deletion of resources such as Kibana spaces and other organizational assets that the low-privileged user cannot delete directly. Exploitation requires an administrator to interact with the affected Fleet interface. |
| GeoNetwork is a catalog application to manage spatially referenced resources. From 4.0.0-alpha.1 until 4.2.16 and 4.4.11, the Elasticsearch-backed search proxy can skip GeoNetwork's access-control filter injection when a client request has an omitted query field. The request is then forwarded to Elasticsearch without group visibility, draft exclusion, record ownership, or portal-specific filtering. An unauthenticated remote attacker can use the affected public search API to retrieve the full indexed contents of metadata records that should not be publicly visible. This issue is fixed in versions 4.2.16 and 4.4.11. |
| A flaw was found in the H.264 video parser in gst-plugins-bad. When processing a specially crafted H.264 video file with malformed Multiview (MVC) Sequence Parameter Set data, the parser can dereference a NULL pointer during the cleanup of partially allocated internal structures after a parse failure. This can cause the application using GStreamer to crash, resulting in a denial of service. |
| A logic issue was addressed with improved checks. This issue is fixed in macOS Golden Gate 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2. An app may be able to gain root privileges. |
| A flaw was found in the image-customization-controller used in OpenShift's bare metal provisioning stack. The controller registers an HTTP file server on port 8084 with no authentication. The custom imageFileSystem implementation exposes a browsable HTML directory listing of all registered images at the root path. The only access control on per-host images is the random UUID filename; the directory listing discloses those UUIDs to any caller on the provisioning network. Each served image embeds an Ignition config containing the base64-encoded cluster pull secret, optional IRONIC_RAMDISK_SSH_KEY, proxy settings, and per-host NetworkManager keyfiles. An adjacent network attacker can enumerate all image UUIDs via directory listing, download any image, extract the embedded Ignition config, and recover the cluster pull secret and SSH key.
### Evidence
**pkg/imagehandler/imagefilesystem.go — root directory is browsable and enumerates all UUID image names**
```go
func (f *imageFileSystem) Readdir(n int) ([]fs.FileInfo, error) {
f.mu.Lock()
defer f.mu.Unlock()
result := []fs.FileInfo{}
for _, im := range f.images {
result = append(result, im)
}
return result, nil
}
func (f *imageFileSystem) Open(name string) (http.File, error) {
f.log.Info("Open", "path", name)
if name == "/" {
return f, nil
}
...
```
**cmd/controller/main.go — file server bound on all interfaces without auth or TLS**
```go
http.Handle("/", http.FileServer(imageServer.FileSystem()))
go func() {
server := &http.Server{
Addr: imagesBindAddr, // default ":8084"
ReadHeaderTimeout: 5 * time.Second,
}
err := server.ListenAndServe()
```
**pkg/ignition/service_config.go:94-100 — pull secret is embedded in every served image**
```go
func (b *ignitionBuilder) authFile() ignition_config_types_32.File {
source := "data:;base64," + strings.TrimSpace(b.ironicAgentPullSecret)
return ignition_config_types_32.File{
Node: ignition_config_types_32.Node{Path: "/etc/authfile.json"},
...
```
### Attack Pattern
Adjacent provisioning-network client → GET / lists UUID image names → download ISO/initramfs → extract embedded Ignition → recover cluster pull secret and SSH key. |
| A flaw was found in gnutls. The PKCS#7 padding check, performed during decryption, was not constant-time. This timing side-channel could allow a remote attacker to potentially leak sensitive information about the padding bytes through observable timing differences. This vulnerability is a form of information disclosure. |
| A flaw was found in flightctl. The configureRepoHTTPSClient() function in the device-render worker builds a per-repository tls.Config (which may include InsecureSkipVerify, a custom CA bundle, or tenant-supplied mTLS client certificates) and installs it into go-git's process-global client.Protocols map via gitclient.InstallProtocol("https", ...). Because the worker renders devices for multiple organizations concurrently from a shared goroutine pool, whichever tenant's repository configuration is written last wins for all in-flight git.Clone calls.
This race condition can cause one tenant's TLS settings, including InsecureSkipVerify or mTLS client credentials, to leak into another tenant's git operations. |
| A flaw was found in CRIU's handling of restartable sequences (rseq) during checkpoint/restore. A malicious process inside a container can register an rseq critical section that hijacks CRIU's parasite code injection during checkpoint, allowing it to spoof the process credentials saved in the checkpoint image. On restore, the container process gains elevated capabilities and zeroed UIDs/GIDs.
The practical impact on Red Hat products is limited by several factors: checkpoint/restore requires root privileges (podman) or cluster-admin RBAC (OpenShift) to trigger and cannot be initiated from within the container itself; on OpenShift prior to 4.17 the feature required explicit opt-in, and on 4.17+ the kubelet checkpoint API RBAC is not configured by default; OpenShift enforces user namespaces by default for regular workloads (hostUsers is gated behind admin-only SCCs), which makes the spoofed capabilities namespace-scoped and ineffective for privilege escalation; SELinux type enforcement (container_t) blocks privilege transitions independently of capabilities; seccomp filters persist through checkpoint/restore and cannot be corrupted via the parasite; and kernel mount namespace ownership checks on RHEL 9/10 kernels prevent mount-based container escape even with spoofed capabilities. |
