Affected devices contain an incorrect authorization check vulnerability. This could allow an authenticated remote attacker with "guest" role to invoke an internal "do system" command which exceeds their privileges. This command allows the execution of certain low-risk actions, the most critical of which is clearing the local system log. |
ZPanel includes a helper binary named zsudo, intended to allow restricted privilege escalation for administrative tasks. However, when misconfigured in /etc/sudoers, zsudo can be invoked by low-privileged users to execute arbitrary commands as root. This flaw enables local attackers with shell access to escalate privileges by writing a payload to a writable directory and executing it via zsudo. The vulnerability is particularly impactful in post-exploitation scenarios following web server compromise, where the attacker inherits access to zsudo.
Insecure permissions in the packaging of tomcat allow local users that win a race during package installation to escalate to root
Incorrect Privilege Assignment vulnerability in FantasticPlugins SUMO Memberships for WooCommerce sumomemberships allows Privilege Escalation. This issue affects SUMO Memberships for WooCommerce: from n/a through <= 7.8.0.
The StrongDM Windows service incorrectly handled communication related to system certificate management. Attackers could exploit this behavior to install untrusted root certificates or remove trusted ones.
An issue was discovered in Alcatel-Lucent ALE NOE deskphones through 86x8_NOE-R300.1.40.12.4180 and SIP deskphones through 86x8_SIP-R200.1.01.10.728. Because of improper privilege management, an authenticated attacker is able to create symlinks to sensitive and protected data in locations that are used for debugging files. Given that the process of gathering debug logs is carried out with root privileges, any file referenced in the symlink is consequently written to the debug archive, thereby granting accessibility to the attacker.
Improper Privilege Management vulnerability in CodeRevolution Demo My WordPress allows Privilege Escalation. This issue affects Demo My WordPress: from n/a through 1.0.9.1.
A vulnerability was found in szluyu99 gin-vue-blog up to 61dd11ccd296e8642a318ada3ef7b3f7776d2410. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects unknown code of the file gin-blog-server/internal/manager.go of the component PATCH Request Handler. The manipulation leads to improper authorization. The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. This product is using a rolling release to provide continious delivery. Therefore, no version details for affected nor updated releases are available.
In Malwarebytes For Teams v.1.0.990 and before and fixed in v.1.0.1003 and later a privilege escalation can occur via the COM interface running in mbamservice.exe.
The JetFormBuilder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in all versions up to, and including, 3.3.4.1. This is due to improper restriction on user meta fields. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level and above permissions, to register as super-admins on the sites configured as multi-sites.
A flaw was found in Open Cluster Management (OCM) when a user has access to the worker nodes which contain the cluster-manager or klusterlet deployments. The cluster-manager deployment uses a service account with the same name "cluster-manager" which is bound to a ClusterRole also named "cluster-manager", which includes the permission to create Pod resources. If this deployment runs a pod on an attacker-controlled node, the attacker can obtain the cluster-manager's token and steal any service account token by creating and mounting the target service account to control the whole cluster.
Improper privilege management in Yugabyte Platform allows authenticated admin users to escalate privileges to SuperAdmin via a crafted PUT HTTP request, potentially leading to unauthorized access to sensitive system functions and data.
The Homey theme for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.2. This is due to the plugin allowing users who are registering new accounts to set their own role. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to gain elevated privileges by creating an account with the Administrator, Editor, or Shop Manager role.
The WordPress Video Robot - The Ultimate Video Importer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation due to insufficient validation on user meta that can be updated in the wpvr_rate_request_result() function in all versions up to, and including, 1.20.0. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to update their user meta on a WordPress site. This can be leveraged to update their capabilities to that of an administrator.
An issue in OpenKnowledgeMaps Headstart v7 allows a remote attacker to escalate privileges via the url parameter of the getPDF.php component
Incorrect Privilege Assignment vulnerability in pebas CouponXxL couponxxl allows Privilege Escalation. This issue affects CouponXxL: from n/a through <= 3.0.0.
Improper Privilege Management vulnerability in xtemos Woodmart Core allows Privilege Escalation. This issue affects Woodmart Core: from n/a through 1.0.36.
A flaw exists in FlashBlade whereby a local account is permitted to authenticate to the management interface using an unintended method that allows an attacker to gain privileged access to the array.
Due to excessive privileges granted to the web user running the airpointer web platform, a malicious actor that gains control of the this user would be able to privilege escalate to the root user
react-native-bottom-tabs is a library of Native Bottom Tabs for React Native. In versions 0.9.2 and below, the github/workflows/release-canary.yml GitHub Actions repository workflow improperly used the pull_request_target event trigger, which allowed for untrusted code from a forked pull request to be executed in a privileged context. An attacker could create a pull request containing a malicious preinstall script in the package.json file and then trigger the vulnerable workflow by posting a specific comment (!canary). This allowed for arbitrary code execution, leading to the exfiltration of sensitive secrets such as GITHUB_TOKEN and NPM_TOKEN, and could have allowed an attacker to push malicious code to the repository or publish compromised packages to the NPM registry. There is a remediation commit which removes github/workflows/release-canary.yml, but a version with this fix has yet to be released.
