| CVE-2022-50848 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-12-31 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drivers: dio: fix possible memory leak in dio_init() If device_register() returns error, the 'dev' and name needs be freed. Add a release function, and then call put_device() in the error path, so the name is freed in kobject_cleanup() and to the 'dev' is freed in release function. | ||||

Pstore's ram backend reuses those reserved pages to change the memory type (writeback or non-cached) by passing the pages to vmap() (see pfn_to_page() usage in persistent_ram_vmap() for more details) with specific flags. When read_kcore() starts iterating over the vmalloc region, it runs over the virtual address that vmap() returned for ramoops. In aligned_vread() the virtual address is passed to vmalloc_to_page() which returns the page struct for the reserved lowmem area. That lowmem page is passed to kmap_atomic(), which effectively calls page_to_virt() that assumes a lowmem page struct must be directly accessible with __va() and friends. These pages are mapped via vmap() though, and the lowmem mapping was never made, so accessing them via the lowmem virtual address oopses like above. Let's side-step this problem by passing VM_IOREMAP to vmap(). This will tell vread() to not include the ramoops region in the kcore. Instead the area will look like a bunch of zeros. The alternative is to teach kmap() about vmalloc areas that intersect with lowmem. Presumably such a change isn't a one-liner, and there isn't much interest in inspecting the ramoops region in kcore files anyway, so the most expedient route is taken for now.

Try to call into cmdline_proc_show(), then SOFT_DISABLED_BIT was # set again!!! cat /proc/cmdline # 4. Unregister the 'disable_event' command, then: # 1) SOFT_DISABLED_BIT was cleared again; # 2) trace_buffered_event_disable() was called second time!!! echo '!cmdline_proc_show:disable_event:initcall:initcall_finish' > \ set_ftrace_filter ``` To fix it, IIUC, we can change to call trace_buffered_event_enable() at fist time soft-mode enabled, and call trace_buffered_event_disable() at last time soft-mode disabled.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sync: Avoid use-after-free in dbg for hci_remove_adv_monitor() KASAN reports that there's a use-after-free in hci_remove_adv_monitor(). Trawling through the disassembly, you can see that the complaint is from the access in bt_dev_dbg() under the HCI_ADV_MONITOR_EXT_MSFT case. The problem case happens because msft_remove_monitor() can end up freeing the monitor structure. Specifically: hci_remove_adv_monitor() -> msft_remove_monitor() -> msft_remove_monitor_sync() -> msft_le_cancel_monitor_advertisement_cb() -> hci_free_adv_monitor() Let's fix the problem by just stashing the relevant data when it's still valid. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: auxdisplay: hd44780: Fix potential memory leak in hd44780_remove() hd44780_probe() allocates a memory chunk for hd with kzalloc() and makes "lcd->drvdata->hd44780" point to it. When we call hd44780_remove(), we should release all relevant memory and resource. But "lcd->drvdata ->hd44780" is not released, which will lead to a memory leak. We should release the "lcd->drvdata->hd44780" in hd44780_remove() to fix the memory leak bug. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: fix blktrace debugfs entries leakage Commit 99d055b4fd4b ("block: remove per-disk debugfs files in blk_unregister_queue") moves blk_trace_shutdown() from blk_release_queue() to blk_unregister_queue(), this is safe if blktrace is created through sysfs, however, there is a regression in corner case. blktrace can still be enabled after del_gendisk() through ioctl if the disk is opened before del_gendisk(), and if blktrace is not shutdown through ioctl before closing the disk, debugfs entries will be leaked. Fix this problem by shutdown blktrace in disk_release(), this is safe because blk_trace_remove() is reentrant. | ||||
