CVSS v3.1 |
| SCM_RIGHTS file descriptor passing did not preserve FD_RESOLVE_BENEATH when a descriptor was transferred. A process could clear the restriction by sending the descriptor to itself over a Unix domain socket.
A process in a jail that has received a directory file descriptor from another jail can use these techniques to escape the jail's filesystem root restriction. |
| renameat(2) did not enforce FD_RESOLVE_BENEATH on its directory arguments. A jailed process could rename a directory relative to a restricted descriptor, then escape the jail root via fchdir(2). This requires the directory to reside on a filesystem that is also reachable from the jail's root.
A process in a jail that has received a directory file descriptor from another jail can use these techniques to escape the jail's filesystem root restriction. |
| The IPv6 UDP send path for unconnected sockets did not apply the jail policy of rewriting a loopback destination address to the jail's primary IPv6 address.
A process in a classic (non-VNET) jail can send UDP datagrams to services listening on the host's IPv6 loopback address, bypassing jail network isolation. |
| TLS 1.3 embeds the actual record type as the last non-zero byte of the decrypted payload, optionally followed by zero padding. The code which searches for the inner record type had an off-by-one bug which could be triggered by an invalid frame, leading to an underflow followed by an unconditional NULL pointer dereference, causing a kernel panic.
A remote TLS 1.3 peer can send a specially crafted record to trigger a kernel panic, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ip6_vti: fix incorrect tunnel matching in vti6_tnl_lookup()
In vti6_tnl_lookup(), when an exact match for a tunnel fails,
the code falls back to searching for wildcard tunnels:
- Tunnels matching the packet's local address, with any remote address
wildcard remote).
- Tunnels matching the packet's remote address, with any local address
(wildcard local).
However, vti6 stores all these different types of tunnels in the same
hash table (ip6n->tnls_r_l) prone to hash collisions.
The bug is that the fallback search loops in vti6_tnl_lookup() were
missing checks to ensure that the candidate tunnel actually has
a wildcard address. |
| `POST /{owner}/{repo}/topics` was registered without the sign-in middleware that provides the cross-origin protection, so a request issued by a third-party site was not rejected. A repository administrator who visited a malicious page could have the topics of their repository changed. No other repository settings were reachable through this route. |
| The Bluetooth Classic Hands-Free Profile HF role in subsys/bluetooth/host/classic/hfp_hf.c does not release the AT command buffers that are still queued on hf->tx_pending when the RFCOMM DLC goes down. hfp_hf_disconnected() only cancelled the work items and cleared hf->acl, and no other code path ever dequeues those buffers, so each one is permanently lost from the fixed hf_pool (CONFIG_BT_MAX_CONN + 1 buffers, i.e. two in the default configuration). The same function also left BT_HFP_HF_FLAG_CONNECTED set, and hfp_hf_create() wiped the object with memset() as soon as hf->acl was NULL, without checking whether hf->work, hf->slc_work or hf->deferred_work was still pending or running.
The remote Audio Gateway peer controls the trigger end to end and needs no application involvement: an unsolicited +BCS: 1 response makes bcs_handle() call bt_hfp_hf_select_codec() and queue an AT+BCS buffer, which cannot be transmitted while BT_HFP_HF_FLAG_RX_ONGOING is set, and an immediately following RFCOMM DISC strands that buffer. Repeating the connect / +BCS / disconnect cycle a couple of times empties hf_pool for good.
With the pool exhausted, HFP command sending fails permanently, and because hfp_hf_send_cmd() allocates with K_FOREVER (bt_rfcomm_create_pdu() → bt_conn_create_pdu()) from the Bluetooth RX context — where that timeout is not downgraded to K_NO_WAIT — one further +BCS from the peer parks the Bluetooth RX thread inside net_buf_alloc() with no possible waker, halting all HCI event processing until the device is rebooted. Separately, reusing the HF slot while a work handler was still queued or running allowed memset() to wipe live k_work items out from under the system workqueue, corrupting shared kernel workqueue state. Exploitation requires an established HFP session (for SSP devices L2CAP enforces authentication before the RFCOMM channel is reachable) and a build with CONFIG_BT_HFP_HF enabled. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ip6_vti: set netns_immutable on the fallback device.
john1988 and Noam Rathaus reported that vti6_init_net() does not set the
netns_immutable flag on the per-netns fallback tunnel device (ip6_vti0).
Other similar tunnel drivers (like ip6_tunnel, sit, ip6_gre, and ip_tunnel)
correctly set this flag during their fallback device initialization to
prevent them from being moved to another network namespace. |
