| Dell PowerStore SDNAS contains a Buffer Copy without Checking Size of Input vulnerability in NFS/RPC. An unauthenticated attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to command execution and denial of service. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ntfs: fix u16 truncation of restart-area length check
ntfs_check_restart_area() validates that the $LogFile restart area and
its trailing log client record array fit within the system page size:
u16 ra_ofs, ra_len, ca_ofs;
...
ra_len = ca_ofs + le16_to_cpu(ra->log_clients) *
sizeof(struct log_client_record);
if (ra_ofs + ra_len > le32_to_cpu(rp->system_page_size) || ...)
return false;
ra_len is u16, but the right-hand side is computed in size_t
(sizeof(struct log_client_record) == 160). Both ca_ofs and log_clients
come straight from the on-disk restart area. With an on-disk
log_clients of 410 the product 410 * 160 = 65600; adding ca_ofs and
storing into the u16 ra_len truncates modulo 65536 (e.g. ca_ofs 64
gives ra_len 128), so the "fits in the page" check passes even though
the client array described by log_clients extends far beyond the page.
ntfs_check_log_client_array() then walks the array bounded only by the
on-disk log_clients count:
cr = ca + idx;
if (cr->prev_client != LOGFILE_NO_CLIENT) ...
For log_clients 410 it dereferences records up to ca + 409 * 160,
~64 KiB past the kvzalloc(system_page_size) restart-page buffer -- an
out-of-bounds read of attacker-controlled extent, reachable when a
crafted NTFS image is mounted (load_and_check_logfile() at mount time).
This is the in-kernel analogue of CVE-2022-30789, fixed in the ntfs-3g
userspace driver but never in this revived classic driver.
Compute the restart-area length in a u32 so the existing bounds check
rejects an over-large client array instead of being defeated by the
truncation. Widen ra_ofs and ca_ofs to u32 as well: both are loaded
from __le16 on-disk fields and every comparison already promotes to
int/size_t, so this changes no result and keeps the declaration uniform. |
| A maliciously crafted SVG file, when parsed through Autodesk 3ds Max, can force a Memory Corruption vulnerability. A malicious actor can leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Input: synaptics-rmi4 - bound the F54 report size to the allocated buffer
rmi_f54_work() reads a diagnostics report from the device into
f54->report_data, sizing the transfer with rmi_f54_get_report_size():
report_size = rmi_f54_get_report_size(f54);
...
for (i = 0; i < report_size; i += F54_REPORT_DATA_SIZE) {
int size = min(F54_REPORT_DATA_SIZE, report_size - i);
...
rmi_read_block(.., f54->report_data + i, size);
}
report_data is allocated once at probe from F54's own electrode counts
(array3_size(f54->num_tx_electrodes, f54->num_rx_electrodes, sizeof(u16))),
but rmi_f54_get_report_size() computes the size from
drv_data->num_*_electrodes when those are set, i.e. from the F55
function's electrode counts. Both counts come straight from device
queries (F54 and F55 each report up to 255 electrodes) and nothing
constrains the F55 counts to the F54 ones.
A malicious or malfunctioning RMI4 device that reports larger F55
electrode counts than its F54 counts makes report_size exceed the
allocation, so the read loop writes past report_data (and the V4L2
dequeue memcpy() then reads past it). On conforming hardware the F55
configured electrodes are a subset of the F54 physical electrodes, so
report_size never exceeds the buffer and well-behaved devices are
unaffected.
Record the allocation size and reject a report that does not fit,
mirroring the existing zero-size check. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in BlueZ, the Linux Bluetooth protocol stack. A remote user within Bluetooth radio range can send a specially crafted Extended Inquiry Response (EIR) packet that causes a buffer overflow when the target device performs Bluetooth discovery. This vulnerability can lead to a Denial of Service (DoS) by crashing the bluetoothd service and may allow for arbitrary code execution. |
| FFmpeg before commit 9d786e4 contains a stack buffer overflow in the MPEG-PS muxer (libavformat/mpegenc.c). When muxing input with more streams than the muxer's fixed-size stack buffer accommodates, the buffer is overflowed. A crafted input with an excessive number of streams triggers the overflow during MPEG-PS muxing. |
| Multiple DrayTek VigorSwitch models contain a buffer overflow vulnerability in the sysreboot function. The vulnerability is caused by unsafe concatenation of split valueN data into a fixed-size buffer. A remote attacker can trigger this vulnerability via crafted input, causing a denial of service or potentially executing arbitrary commands. Exploitation requires valid administrative credentials for the device's web management interface. |
| GIMP TIF File Parsing Stack-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GIMP. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the parsing of TIF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-29399. |
| GIMP TIF File Parsing Heap-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GIMP. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the parsing of TIF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-29398. |
| A flaw was found in file-roller. When opening or extracting a malicious 7z or RAR archive containing a file entry with an excessively long path, file-roller's progress-line parsing copies the path into a fixed-size stack buffer using an unbounded string copy. This can trigger a stack buffer overflow and cause file-roller to terminate, resulting in a denial of service. To exploit this flaw, a victim must open or extract the crafted archive using file-roller. |
| Multiple DrayTek VigorSwitch models contain a buffer overflow vulnerability in the diag_logmail function. The vulnerability is caused by concatenating multiple smtpReceiver email addresses into a fixed-size buffer without checking the remaining buffer size. A remote attacker can trigger this vulnerability via crafted input, causing a denial of service or potentially executing arbitrary commands. Exploitation requires valid administrative credentials for the device's web management interface. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
s390/zcrypt: Improve EP11 CPRB length and overflow checks
The xcrb_msg_to_type6_ep11cprb_msgx() function lacks proper input
validation, creating security vulnerabilities:
1. Missing minimum size validation: The ep11_cprb structure and
subsequent payload fields (pld_tag, pld_lenfmt) are copied from
userspace without verifying sufficient buffer length.
2. Arithmetic overflow in length calculations: CEIL4 alignment could
overflow, bypassing size checks and enabling buffer overflows.
3. The payload is asn1 encoded but the function just uses a simple c
struct overlay to access some fields of the payload.
Fix by using size_t for length calculations, adding U32_MAX boundary
checks after alignment, and validating minimum request size and
minimum reply size before copying from userspace. Do a very simple
asn1 parsing of the payload up to the function value field. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu: reject oversized IBs with per-ring packet limits
On GFX rings, amdgpu_cs_p2_ib() passed user-supplied ib_bytes through
to ib->length_dw without a limit, while ring_emit_ib() encodes length
into packet fields. Oversized values can corrupt adjacent control bits
and destabilize command submission.
Add a per-ring IB packet size limit helper and reject command
submissions exceeding the corresponding dword limit before IB
allocation. Use the documented 20-bit limit for GFX/compute/SDMA/VPE,
and apply the MM fallback limit for other ring types.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Input: synaptics-rmi4 - block s_input when F54 queue is busy
Changing the input (diagnostic report type) mid-stream changes the
report size. Since V4L2 buffers are allocated based on the size at
stream start, changing the input while streaming could lead to a
heap buffer overflow if the new size is larger than the allocated
buffers.
Prevent this by blocking VIDIOC_S_INPUT with -EBUSY if the V4L2 queue
is busy (streaming). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fbdev: bound mode sysfs output to the sysfs buffer
mode_string() uses snprintf() which can return a value larger than the
remaining buffer space. show_modes() accumulates the return value into i
without checking whether i has reached PAGE_SIZE, causing the offset to
advance past the sysfs buffer if the modelist is long enough.
Add a size parameter to mode_string() and use scnprintf() to return
only the bytes actually written. Add an early return when offset
already exceeds the buffer. In show_modes(), stop accumulating once
the buffer is full. |
| Multiple DrayTek VigorAP models contain a buffer overflow vulnerability in the setLan function. The vulnerability is caused by missing length checks during memory copy operations involving the lanVlanId0, lanIp, and lanNetmask fields. A remote attacker can trigger this vulnerability via crafted input, causing a denial of service or potentially executing arbitrary commands. Exploitation requires valid administrative credentials for the device's web management interface. |
| Multiple DrayTek VigorSwitch models contain a buffer overflow vulnerability in the switch_lan_gvrp function. The vulnerability is caused by unsafe copying of the portList field into an undersized buffer. A remote attacker can trigger this vulnerability via crafted input, causing a denial of service or potentially executing arbitrary commands. Exploitation requires valid administrative credentials for the device's web management interface. |
| IBM PowerVM Hypervisor FW1110.00 through FW1110.20, FW1060.00 through FW1060.71, and FW950.00 through FW950.H1 A carefully crafted OS hypervisor call can cause the PowerVM hypervisor to crash or compromise OS memory integrity. |
| Classic buffer overflow in the Erlang/OTP megaco flex scanner C driver allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to corrupt the driver's memory (and potentially achieve remote code execution or a denial-of-service crash) by sending a single text-encoded H.248/Megaco message containing an oversized property parm name.
When tokenizing a Local/Remote descriptor, mfs_load_property_groups extracts the attacker-controlled property name (bounded only by the message length) and, when no value follows, formats it into a fixed 512-byte error_msg field of the MfsErlDrvData struct using an unchecked sprintf call. Names longer than roughly 452 bytes overflow into the immediately following struct fields (text_buf, text_ptr, term_spec, term_spec_size, term_spec_index), overwriting live pointers and counters with attacker-chosen bytes. Subsequent scanner code writes and frees through the corrupted pointers, producing arbitrary write and arbitrary free primitives inside the BEAM VM process, which can be leveraged for remote code execution. On builds compiled with _FORTIFY_SOURCE the overflow is detected at runtime and terminates the process with SIGABRT, resulting in denial of service.
The overflow occurs in the flex scanner before any grammar or Megaco-level authentication processing, so exploitation requires only network reachability to the megaco transport port on a node configured with {scanner, flex}.
This vulnerability is associated with program files lib/megaco/src/flex/megaco_flex_scanner_drv.flex.src and program routines mfs_load_property_groups.
