CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: handle lack of space when cleaning up verity items
When enable_verity() hits the qgroup limit, rollback_verity() needs its
own metadata reservation. When the qgroup limit or lack of space refuses
the rollback, the whole filesystem is forced read-only even though the
qgroup limit was for one subvolume only. Also orphan cleanup at the next
mount fails the same way, so the leftover items are never removed: with
-EDQUOT the subvolume stays unreachable, and with -ENOSPC on a full
filesystem the next read-write mount fails.
Start transactions with btrfs_start_transaction_fallback_global_rsv() in
btrfs_orphan_cleanup(), drop_verity_items() and rollback_verity(). Those
calls only delete items and free the space in the end, so they may use
the global reserve and skip the qgroup limit, which avoids -ENOSPC and
-EDQUOT. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: mac80211: add HE 6 GHz capability in the scan elems len
The HE 6 GHz Band Capability element is in the probe request for
every band if 6 GHz is supported, so add the size to scan_ies_len.
Otherwise, building probe request elements can fail, triggering the
WARN_ON in __ieee80211_start_scan(). |
| A flaw was found in SSSD. When configured to evaluate password expiration warnings before restrictive access rules in LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) environments, an expired-password warning terminates rule evaluation early and treats the access request as successful. A remote authenticated user with an expired password using an alternative authentication method, such as SSH public key authentication, can exploit this flaw to bypass access control restrictions and gain unauthorized access to protected systems. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mm/vma: correctly unaccount on mmap_prepare() failure
__mmap_setup() accounts memory for relevant mappings via:
security_vm_enough_memory_mm()
-> __vm_enough_memory()
-> vm_acct_memory()
If __mmap_setup() fails, this indicates that this accounting did not take
place, and thus it's appropriate for __mmap_region() to jump to
abort_munmap.
However if call_mmap_prepare() fails, it also jumps there and any accounted
memory is not correctly unaccounted.
Fix this by handling each error separately. |
| Use of uninitialized resource, Return of wrong status code vulnerability in Apache Thrift C++ WebSocket server.
This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nvdimm: pmem: keep PREFLUSH before data writes
pmem_submit_bio() records a REQ_PREFLUSH error, but continues to copy the
bio data and can later overwrite the error with a successful REQ_FUA flush.
That lets data writes run after a failed preflush and can complete the bio
successfully despite the failed ordering barrier.
Run the REQ_PREFLUSH flush synchronously before touching the bio data and
complete the bio with the flush error if it fails. Keep asynchronous flush
chaining for REQ_FUA. At that point, data copy has completed and the parent
bio can wait for the chained flush bio. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: cls_u32: fix duplicate handle when node ID pool is exhausted
gen_new_kid() falls back to returning max (htid | 0xFFF) when both
idr_alloc_u32() ranges are full, instead of reporting an error.
u32_change() trusts that value and inserts a new knode with a handle
that is already live in the hash table, breaking handle uniqueness
within the table's node ID space.
The handle was never reserved in ht->handle_idr, so every later error
path that does idr_remove(&ht->handle_idr, handle) removes the
reservation of a different, live knode, which is then reused — one
failed add compounds into further duplicates.
The 4095 limit is per (table, bucket) — ht->handle_idr is per hash
table and the range is derived from htid (bucketid), so a table with
divisor 256 can legitimately hold 256*4095 knodes.
The sibling helper gen_new_htid() has the same silent in-band failure:
it returns 0 when the tp_c handle pool (1..0x7FF) is full, and
u32_init() publishes the root hash table with handle 0 without
checking. Two root tables with handle 0 alias in u32_lookup_ht(),
allowing cross-tcf_proto knode add/lookup/delete. Add the same
exhaustion check that the divisor path already has.
Return an error so u32_change() fails with ENOSPC/ENOMEM when the
node ID space is exhausted, and so u32_init() fails with -ENOMEM
when the hash table ID space is exhausted. The extack message
distinguishes pool exhaustion (-ENOSPC) from a transient allocation
failure (-ENOMEM).
Conditions to recreate the bug:
- CONFIG_NET_SCHED=y, CONFIG_CLS_U32=y (or =m with module loaded)
- Create a clsact qdisc on a device, then add 4095 u32 filters with
auto-generated handles to fill the node ID space for the root hash
table (single bucket). The 4096th auto-handle filter add triggers
the duplicate handle (fh 800::fff reused). Reachable at Level 2
(unshare -Urn, namespace-local CAP_NET_ADMIN).
- For gen_new_htid: create 2047 u32 proto entries on the same block
to fill the tp_c handle pool, then create one more. The root table
gets handle 0 and aliases with other handle-0 root tables. |
| Discord libdave before 1.2.0 did not reject an MLS Welcome message when the resulting group roster contained an unrecognized participant. An attacker in control of the DAVE signaling path (the voice gateway, or an equivalent position able to add, alter, or withhold signaling messages to a client) could cause affected clients to accept an unauthorized member into the end-to-end encrypted media session, compromising the confidentiality and integrity of audio and video. |
| A fail-open error handling issue within the data masking utility of Powertools for AWS Lambda (Python) might allow actors to read sensitive field values that the application intended to mask.
To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to version 3.35.0. |
| Improper certificate validation, Return of wrong status code vulnerability in Apache Thrift python bindings.
This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue. |
| Use of uninitialized resource, Return of wrong status code vulnerability in Apache Thrift c_glib bindings.
This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue. |
| openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.0 contain a critical vulnerability in pqc.py where KEM decapsulation failures silently fall back to simulation mode, generating a deterministic shared secret from only 16 bytes of the private key and publicly available encapsulated key data. Attackers who obtain 16 bytes of the private key can compute the shared secret and decrypt all ciphertext, as the fallback triggers on any KEM failure without raising an error. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
s390/crypto: Fix handling of EBUSY in PHMAC when req is pushed to crypto engine
When a request is transferred to the engine via
crypto_transfer_hash_request_to_engine() there are two return codes
signaling a successful transfer: EINPROGRESS and EBUSY. However the
correct handling of EBUSY was missing and has been added as a return
code indicating a successful transfer to the crypto engine. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
accel: ethosu: Fix ethosu_job_open() return value
A WARN_ON() returns a 0 or 1, not the original negative errno. Just drop
the WARN_ON() as the FD open will pass the return code to userspace and
there's only one possible source of the error (drm_sched_entity_init()). |
| A denial-of-service vulnerability exists in the API endpoint of HPE Networking Instant On that could allow an authenticated attacker with administrative privileges to cause a denial of service. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to interrupt the normal operation of the affected service, which resumes without manual intervention. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: propagate DACL parsing errors
parse_dacl() silently accepts truncated ACEs and allocation failures,
allowing set_info_sec() to continue with an incomplete ACL conversion.
Return parsing and allocation errors to parse_sec_desc() so malformed
security descriptors are rejected before inode attributes or ACL xattrs
are updated. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ntfs: do not mark the volume clean in sync_fs when errors were recorded
ntfs_put_super() and the remount-read-only path both clear the dirty bit
only when NVolErrors(vol) is false. ntfs_sync_fs() clears it
unconditionally, so any sync() on a volume that recorded an error marks
that volume clean. A volume without this set is then seen as not needing
recovery and it does not run one, so whatever went wrong is never repaired.
This change skips resetting the dirty bit when there are volume errors.
Reproduced on a volume whose $MFTMirr does not match $MFT, which sets the
error flag while leaving the mount read-write: after a write and a sync,
the on-disk volume flags read 0x0000 with this driver and 0x0001 with the
guard in place. |
| Zammad is a web based open source helpdesk/customer support system. Prior to 7.0.2, summary In Zammad's inbound PGP email processing, the return value of the gpg verification call was silently discarded. Regardless of whether gpg reported a valid, invalid, or missing signature, the handler unconditionally wrote sign: { success: true, comment: "Good signature" } to the article's security preferences. Impact Any sender could tamper with the body of a multipart/signed PGP email, or craft a message with an entirely fabricated or mismatched signature, and Zammad would display it to the recipient as cryptographically verified with a "Good signature" label. Users and agents relying on Zammad's signature indicator to confirm message authenticity and integrity would be misled into trusting modified or forged content. The vulnerability affects all inbound PGP-signed emails processed while the PGP integration is enabled. This issue is fixed in version 7.0.2. |
| In Mbed TLS 3.2.0 though 3.6.6 and 4.0.0 through 4.1.0, an attacker who can cause an entropy source to fail can remove or inject bytes into the start of the TLS stream. This only affects TLS 1.3 servers. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: hci_core: use skb_get() instead of skb_clone() for req_skb
BT enable fails intermittently with -ETIMEDOUT (-110). The kernel log
shows the HCI Read Local Version command was sent and the firmware
replied with status 0x00 (logged by hci_req_cmd_complete() BT_DBG),
but the waiter in __hci_cmd_sync_sk() never woke up and timed out
after 10 s:
bluetooth hci0: Opcode 0xfc00 // __hci_cmd_sync_sk
bluetooth hci0: opcode 0xfc00 plen 1 // hci_cmd_sync_add
bluetooth hci0: skb len 4 // hci_cmd_sync_alloc
bluetooth hci0: length 1 // hci_req_sync_run
Bluetooth: hci0 cmd_cnt 1 cmd queued 1 // hci_cmd_work
Bluetooth: hci0 type 1 len 4 // hci_send_frame
Bluetooth: opcode 0xfc00 status 0x00 // hci_req_cmd_complete
<-- req_skb NULL: req_complete_skb not set,
hci_cmd_sync_complete() never called,
req_status stays HCI_REQ_PEND -->
<-- 10 s later: wait_event_interruptible_timeout expires -->
bluetooth hci0: end: err -110 // __hci_cmd_sync_sk
The root cause is that hci_send_cmd_sync() clones the sent command
into hdev->req_skb so that hci_req_cmd_complete() can locate the
registered completion callback. Under memory pressure this
skb_clone() fails, leaving hdev->req_skb NULL. The firmware reply
is received and processed, but hci_req_cmd_complete() finds NULL
req_skb, so hci_cmd_sync_complete() is never called, req_status
stays HCI_REQ_PEND, and the waiter times out with -ETIMEDOUT.
req_skb is only used to read bt_cb(skb)->hci callbacks and opcode --
it is never modified. Replace skb_clone() with skb_get(), which
simply increments the reference count of hdev->sent_cmd without
allocating new memory and therefore cannot fail.
This issue was first observed as a use-after-free in ttyport_close()
when ttyport_open() failed, which was investigated in an earlier
patch series [1]. That investigation led to the discovery of the
true root cause described above.
